Taylor Swift: "I don't want to marry young. I'm enjoying my 20s."

Taylor Swift doesn't expect to settle down anytime soon. In a recent interview with Parade, she revealed: “People think I want to get married really young—I don’t know why. I’m a romantic person, but that doesn’t mean I want to miss out on being in my young 20s.”

Despite writing about it so prolifically, Swift claims not to know much about love. “I tend to think things are love and then look back and reevaluate,” she said. How many times has she been in love? “I know how many people I’ve said ‘I love you’ to. I could probably count it up, but I don’t feel like it. If I end up getting married and having kids, that’s when I’ll know it’s real—because it lasted.”

Swift is currently linked to One Direction singer Harry Styles. After a brief fling in April, the couple reconnected at the VMA Awards in September. There was "some serious flirting going on" between the pair at London's Teen Awards on October 7, according to BBC Radio One DJ Aled Jones. They arranged to have an intimate dinner at the upmarket Luton Hoo Hotel later that evening, but the reservation was cancelled after word of the booking was leaked to The Sun newspaper.

They were "holding hands and flirting all day" at the X Factor television studio in Los Angeles on November 14, as confirmed by the show's host Mario Lopez. Styles sat with Swift's mother during her rehearsal and sang along. "After she finished, he went up to the stage. They were joking and laughing. He picked her up and threw her over his shoulder and carried her off."

Styles has named Swift as one of his celebrity crushes, telling the October issue of Seventeen: "She honestly couldn't be a sweeter person. She's genuinely nice and extremely talented, and she deserves everything she has."

In November, Styles told Cosmopolitan that he was currently dating someone: "There's someone I like. If you're shown in the papers with other girls when you really like someone else, that's difficult. But still, I think it's important if you're thinking about starting a relationship to do it away from the spotlight. I thought I [had a type] but this girl I like isn't my 'type'. It's more about the person. How they act, their body language, if they can laugh at themselves. I find ambition really attractive too - if someone's good at something they love doing. I want someone who is driven."

that's how i feel.you made a baby and it probably wasn't on purpose and now all you do is post pictures of your not even cute child.

i have a lot of feelings about this because a girl that i was really close with in high school posted a stupid text note on instagram one of those if you're a mom repost this and it was about how drinking til 4am isn't as great as watching a disney movie with your child.

that really seems true. I have a few friends who seriously post pictures of their kids every day and get a flurry of comments and like every time like it's the first picture ever. idgi.

i quit facebook partly because my feed became consumed with that stuff. like i'm 24 and embarking on an exciting career and jennifer anistoning it up and i just didn't relate to that desperation.

they don't realize that A) no one gives a shit, especially not randoms on Facebook and B) that stuff is best kept private

It really makes me think that these people are simple-minded. There's so much more going on in life but they lose their minds over a picture of a kid.
my_moloko 30th-Nov-2012 06:48 am (UTC)
That is depressing but so true. Which is why any time one of my friends posts about a scholastic achievement I "like" it and give them an over the top congratulatory message.
