From what i remember, Norman kept trying to find something to tie all the Dark Avengers together and he realized it was Captain America who was the face of the Avengers. He created the Iron Patriot as a way to tie the images of Iron Man and Captain America together.

Oh Norman.

That's like a terrible idea. But then he's the same person who thought it was a good idea to put Venom on Thunderbolt. Do you know what ever happen with that?

Venom was taken into custody by SHIELD during Siege and now Flash Thompson (Peter Parker's high school bully) uses it as a tool for good. They've completely redesigned the costume and the book is really well-written. I don't want to spoil too much of it for you in case you decide to read the book. I'd be happy to tell you more about it though if you'd like.

Venom is well written or Thunderbolts is well written. Because I loved it when Fabian Nicieza was writing it. And its not that I don't like Warren Ellis but I liked Fabian better?

Venom is well-written. They just came out of a really stupid crossover arc with Scarlet Spider though which I wasn't here for.

I haven't really kept up with Thunderbolts. They renamed it to Dark Avengers and last I knew, Luke Cage was leading them but since he just left the Avengers, I'm not sure what's going on there.

They're relaunching the Thunderbolts as a part of Marvel Now with Elektra, Red Hulk, Venom, and Punisher which I feel is too "fan-ficy" for me but I'll reserve judgement until I read it.

See I loved New Thunderbolts, Right to Power and Born Better. Once they sent Zemo time hopping - which was fun but meh - I was side eying them.

I need to step my comic reading game up. I'm super out of date these days. Secret Invasion kind of killed me. Like I tried but I was too broke for that shit. Then Dark Reign happened and I was just like Look no.

I thought Dark Reign was a really good idea but with most of their huge events, the execution was just so off. AvX this summer was a fucking disaster but the Marvel Now books we're getting out of it now are turning out to be fantastic.

I keep hearing terrible things about AxV but Wanda! I adore her and I would read it for her comeback.

There were pretty cute scenes with her at the end but now she's one of the flagship members of the Uncanny Avengers so you'll definitely get your Wanda fix there.
