Getting fans amped up for their seventh album, Canadian folksy duo Tegan and Sara released an exclusive clip of their upcoming project, Heartthrob — giving a behind-the-scenes look at the music-making process.
In the short clip, the 32-year-old Quin sisters take their fans on a musical journey, giving a glimpse into their daily lives since releasing 2009′s Sainthood.
“It’s time to shake things up,” Tegan gushed to SPIN about Heartthrob. The album’s breakout single “Closer” recently made its music video debut.
“The hope with this video was to capture some of the youthful naïveté present during those years, before death and taxes and weird arthritic aches in joints (I am getting so old),” Sara explained of the Isaac Rentz-directed shoot.
She added, “The treatment was inspired by our childhood friends, the still remarkable television show My So-Called Lifeand, most importantly, our love of karaoke.”
