Even though she has been arrested twicein the last few months and has likely violated her probation, Lindsay Lohan is hoping to avoid any jail time by going to rehab for at least SIX MONTHS, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting!

"Lindsay's manager and agent have been telling her for months that she must go to rehab to save her life. Until now she has resisted, but after her arrest this morning she realizes she needs help," a source close to the troubled starlet exclusively tells .

"It's very likely that Lindsay won't fight the probation violation charges and throw herself at the mercy of the court and hopes to avoid jail time by going to rehab for at least six months."

Lindsay was arrested again early Thursday morning in New York City at the club Avenue after she allegedly sucker punched a woman in the club.

As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, "Lindsay was completely out of control. She was drinking way too much booze and was doing cocaine," a club insider revealed.

With the latest legal trouble, the source said Lindsay could be facing a maximum of 237 days behind bars.

"Because of jail overcrowding in Los Angeles though she would only serve 25 percemt of that time. The City Attorney will ask the judge to max Lindsay out and send her to jail," the source says.

I dont know if radar is a really good source, but they are saying that the girl she hit ask her for a picture, and that she was out of control, and doing cocaine. If this is not a wake up call for her, i dont know what is.

I had a friend with substance abuse problems and when he got clean and started going to meetings they said that the age a person starts using is the age their brain stops developing.

Starts using what, though? Heroin? Coke? Alcohol? PCP? Marijuana? Nicotine?

Sounds fishy to me.

I would assume that means once a person becomes heavily immersed in their addiction, of any sort? My mom's ex-boyfriend was a recovering addict and said the same thing about himself (he was a former cracker user).

This isnt funny at all and I shouldnt make jokes but the image of someone crying as they shove Ritz and Club crackers in their mouth is just cracking me up.

"My name is Jim, and I... am a cracker addict."

not a neuroscientist by any means but i would assume it has something to do with how addiction really changes the chemistry of your brain.

I can't imagine being a grown ass woman and sneaking out of a window period, let alone sneaking out a window to buy drugs.

i haven't heard that, but i remember Dr. Drew (smh, I know) saying that the age when you're first trapped in the throes of addiction is the age where you're mentally "stuck" until you begin seriously recovering. So if you started on a downward spiral as a teenager - like LiLo probably did - you may be stuck in the emotional mindset of a teenager well into your adult years.

I think it was in reference to Steven Adler, who began using at a very young age and was often stuck in an adolescent mindset.
