Kristen Stewart at Variety Awards Studio

Kristen Stewart shows off her bra in a sheer white top at the Variety Awards Studio on Wednesday (November 28) at a private residence in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old actress was recently honored by James Gandolfini for her performance in On the Road in Variety‘s Actors on Actors feature.

“Kristen Stewart is one of the mad ones. But mad in a beautiful way. And she is determined to make people mad. To show them she is more than Bella in Twilight. To show them she does burn, and smolder, and wants more out of her career and life. And smolder she does,” James said.

does birth control really help your complexion that much? i hear all these wonderful benefits of birth control and wonder if i should start taking it tbh

It does. My skin cleared up so much on BC.

The downside is certain people have weight gain on it as well.

I read that the weight gain thing is a myth; it may make you feel more hungry, but it won't in itself make you gain weight.

depo is a different beast entirely than the pill though tbh. i dont know anyone who HASNT had some positively insane gain on depo. that shit scares me.

it did wonders for my skin. I use to get really bad cystic pimples and the second I went on bc I haven't had them since.

this is what I'm worried about with trying BC, the one I tried like 5 years ago gave me severe nausea and depression and scared me off them. do you remember how long you had to try each before you knew they weren't for you? were there side effects to switching around?
maryhurt 29th-Nov-2012 04:09 pm (UTC)
not the op, but my doctor told me that you have to try them for 3 months before giving up or start another one.

I used to try them for a few weeks, and then give up, because all of them gave me really bad cramps (like, more painful than the usual ones), but the first time I actually stuck with one until the three months deadline, it was jackpot. The cramps lasted about a month and I'm with Yasmin until this day. Nausea is also normal, but Idk about depression, maybe you should ask a doctor.

He also told me that if you gain weight, or have other bad side effects, then it's the wrong bc for you, you have to try another one (while always complying the deadline). The right one is one that'll give you none or the least possible side effects. The only thing that Yasmin didn't ~cure were some pms symptoms (I still feel a bit under the weather and my throat swallows, but still, it's not as bad as it used to be).

idk my skin, weight, and general happiness went to shit when i was on BC. But I hear that some people just react badly to certain BC brands or whatever... I only tried the one brand before I decided it wasnt worth it. Condoms are my friend now!

I have really mixed feelings about birth control, but it's better than getting pregnant (learned that the hard way and still recovering tbh).

Any weight I've gained has been "woman weight". I grew two cup sizes - ridiculously enough - and have more of an hourglasss than I did before. Girls have been extremely envious of my recent addition of chestal endowment and I've been asked several times if the girls are "real". My boyfriend thinks it's been like, 5 pounds, when it's actually been closer to 15.

However, I'm not sure if this was because I was pregnant for 8 weeks and I was told to go on the pill ASAP after terminating the pregnancy, so my body has been in perpetual "pregnancy mode" for like 10 months which is sorta bizzare.

HOWEVER one of the main reasons I chose the pill was to clear my skin up. I had remarkable skin all my life - then I developed adult acne at 18. It would get really painful and cystic sometimes - I went on birth control and it cleared up in very little time.

Basically, it's a trial and error thing. I experimented with birth control since the age of 15, and I stopped taking the one I was on because it was basically recalled (Yasmine). Ironically, upon going off of BC in the first place, I had a series of the breakouts of my life.

But, I researched and you can also "taper" off the birth control (to control acne, not pregnancy LOL) so that your bod doesn't totally go cold-turkey off the hormones... when the time comes to go off of it.

TLDR story short, if your acne is hormonal (this is indicated if your breakouts are primarily around your chin/jawline) the right birth control WILL probably help. In the end, my weight gain has, thankfully, been controllable (I just started exercising more on the elliptical and eating slightly less, portion-wise, n' lost all the weight I needed to). Plus my rack looks awesome. But this is just my experience. That shit tricks your bod into thinking you are pregnant and everyone reacts to being pregnant in a different way (duh).

Depends on the pill...I had to go with a really low dosage pill (Luestrin I think it's spelled) because the higher-doses made my skin horrible and made me gain weight and stuff. This pill is amazing, my skin is so clear and I can finally maintain my weight.

It all depends on the person, though. Genetics and general hygiene also play a role of course.
