'Emily Owens' cancelled by CW



Not a good news day for medical shows.

First Fox decided to not pick up The Mob Doctor for a full season. Now The CW has ruled it will not continue with Emily Owens M.D..

The network will still air all 13 episodes from the original order of the Mamie Gummer dramedy, but that’s it.

The news was expected given the show’s ratings; Emily Owens has been shedding its Hart of Dixie lead in on Tuesday nights this fall. Last night’s episode had only 1 million viewers and a 0.3 rating among adults 18-49. Also, The CW had previously given full-season orders to its two other new dramas, Arrow and Beauty and the Beast.

Next for The CW: Sex and the City prequel series The Carrie Diaries coming Jan. 14.

It was a cute show, but the ratings were awful. Sucks nonetheless.

I just watched the first episode last night. It was cute, but I spent most of the time distracted by Mamie's terrible, terrible skin. Way too young to have lines like that. JFC.

Top Model sort of, and Smallville had good ratings for the network when it was on. And Supernatural does pretty well for the CW.

TVD is a big deal, and Arrow is a hit (by CW standards) and Supernatural has the "passionate" fanbase.

The preview I saw for this looked like a low-budg rip off of the weird 9th season of Scrubs with the idiotic blonde main doctor.
