Ex-Desperate Housewives studs Charlie and Max Carver have nabbed recurring roles in Teen Wolf‘s super-sized Season 3. Per Deadline, the real-life twin brothers will join the addictive MTV drama as a pair of Alpha werewolves, described as “dangerous charmers with brilliant minds.”

Neighbours alumna Adelaide Kane and Days of our Lives‘ Felisha Terrell also have secured recurring gigs. Kane will play a mysterious woman with ties to Beacon Hills, while Terrell has been cast as another Alpha wolf.

Have they stated that she's supposed to be Indian, or is that just an assumption based on her name?

Its nice to see a woman and a minority on the show, but tbh if she is Kali I'll be pretty pissed as an Indian for the show to once again have someone non Indian play when imo they should have given that role to an indian actress, who do actually exist out of bollywood movies given what and who the name Kali represents.

you are totally right

A lot goes into casting a show.

She got that part for a reason, obviously--it happens quite a bit.

If they looked at Indian actors and couldn't find one they liked, things like this happen--it's quite common.

IMO that's a total cop out and I'll bet is the same exact thing that's said every time a poc is either whitewashed or used interchangeably.

I'm not saying every casting is perfect and I do agree, there is a problem, and yes, it would be great to see more people on Indian descent on TV, but if they couldn't find an Indian actor that they really liked to fill that spot, we should be happy that the producers, casting folks and the show-runner went ahead and still cast a person of color.

I work in this town, and you'd be surprised at how, at least at first, they consider and audition actors of color but those actors considered and the time allotted to do so, it sometimes doesn't work out. I'm not saying that's always right, but there are some forces here that really do try and put POC in those parts--even if the parts aren't for POC to begin with...that's how Halle Berry made her career.

At any rate, you are right, if they don't find the POC they want initially, if the chemistry is off, etc they just go ahead and cast the white person.

I'm thrilled that Teen Wolf didn't go there.

That may be true, but in this case I just don't trust Jeff Davis. Right now he just posted a tweet saying people were upset that an East Indian was cast as Kali and if she should be renamed, and then when people tweeted him, posted that he shouldn't forget to feed the trolls. FEED THE TROLLS. And then like usual deleted the two posts.

And if it was just some random Indian that he put someone else in, I'd be less pissed, but he straight up said he was using the story and history of Kali from Hinduism - and that's particularly why its so much more not on for me.

I get what you are saying, I do, and like I mentioned, always happy to see women and poc casted, but I think this was a pretty shitty move by him tbh, and he hasn't conducted himself well at all in the aftermath of quite legitimate concerns (just like he did about boyd).
