I just wouldn't expect his debut performance to be on BBC. He's an indie R&B artist, I would have expected at least a music network or something.

well Jools Holland is perfect fit for his indie R&B vibe..they always highlight up and coming alternative artists sooo well on the show..so The Weeknd being on their show to me is ..pretty standard. Plus this will set him up nicely to do well in the UK now aswell.

when i saw him perform this live his voice was steady and clear. and his adlibs weren't so....weird? he needs to leave the microphone stand, he's not good at just standing there.

Considering how awkward his live performances are and he's been in the game for 2 years now, I think people need to quit hyping the boy until he really shows what he does with a proper album and he quits toying around with this cult status he got that encourages him to be aloof and mysterious. We've seen dudes like him come and go in the R&B game (some only drop 1 album and you still got people clamouring for them to comeback on some legend shit).
All I'm saying is, let him build a rep, before we crown him.
