i'm still a little surprised and, frankly, disturbed that the aurora shooting wasn't a bigger story. it's like the media lost its attention span after a week. it seems like no new discussions re: guns, violence have directly stemmed from it. remember columbine? that dominated the national conversation for YEARS. for such a massive, unbelievable tragedy to get relatively little coverage is scary. i really think we're getting desensitized as a society with each passing tragedy.

This list is weird. I would have had the DKR tragedy as number 1 with Tom & Katie's divorce, the Olympics, Whitney and even Blue Ivy following.

I barely even remember Angelina & Jennifer's engagements happening and Justin + Jessica was mildly interesting for about three seconds. The Halle/Oliver/Gabriel stuff is bigger imo.
