Another branch on the Shepherd family tree will be identified on Dec. 6 when Neve Campbell makes her Grey’s Anatomy debut as Derek’s previously unnamed fourth sister Lizzie — and we’ve got a first look at the Party of Five star’s arrival.
Spoiler alert! Loretta Devine has wrapped her Emmy-winning role as Grey's Anatomy's Alzheimer's-stricken Adele Webber; her final two episodes are set to air in December and January. "The whole time we were doing it, I kept saying, 'Just shoot me!'" Devine says of her emotionally taxing scenes. "It was so painful."
And the pain will endure for Devine, who isn't happy that Adele's death allows her widower, Richard, to pursue a full-on relationship with Dr. Catherine Avery (Debbie Allen).
"Every day, I said, 'Can I please come back to haunt her?'" jokes Devine, who will soon by directed by Allen on Lifetime's The Client List. "Meredith's dead mother comes back on the show all the time, and there was that one dead guy [Denny] who stayed on as a ghost forever."
While there wasn't an on-set party thrown in her honor, Devine did get to enjoy some cake on her last day, she says, "because it happened to be Ellen Pompeo's birthday." Ah, forget the cake. This tearjerker could earn her another golden statue.
Yes, Grey's Anatomy's Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) will ultimately end up in a wedding gown — but whether or not any vows are exchanged with her fiancé, Ben (Jason George), remains to be seen.
"Bailey is not participating," explains Wilson of the nuptials, set for the madcap December 13 episode. "She already had a wedding with her first husband, so she's not excited to make the same vows in front of the same people again. Plus, she has a lot of patients in the hospital. It's a particularly hectic time for her to get whisked off to a wedding. People might show up, but Bailey's priorities get diverted."
That means it's up to friends (like Cristina, Callie and Richard) and family (Miranda's mother Elena [Bianca Taylor] and cousin Claire [Kelli Kirkland]) to try to get her to the church on time.
"Cristina says the reason she agreed to her own wedding ceremony is because she knew it was important to Owen," says Wilson. "And the Chief talks to Bailey about how nervous he was when he married Adele and that he regrets spending so much time at work when he could have been savoring his relationship."
Entourage grad Constance Zimmer has booked a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy, TVLine has learned.
The actress will play Dr. Cahill, a super-confident, self-possessed, laser-focused professional with a wicked sense of humor.
