Girls and Their Growing Pains
It's going to be another awkward year for the ladies on Girls. ''You know how an infant doubles its weight in the first few weeks of its life?'' asks the HBO series' creator, exec producer, and star, Lena Dunham (above left, with Jemima Kirke). ''That's what's happening to these girls right now.'' Apparently Hannah (Dunham), Jessa (Kirke), Marnie (Allison Williams), and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) are still figuring out how adults are supposed to act, and that means there are plenty of cringeworthy moments to come in season 2, premiering Jan. 13

Ladies in Waiting
When Girls returns, Jessa receives a wedding gift from her new husband, Thomas-John (Chris O'Dowd): puppies! Adam (Adam Driver, above with Dunham) is recovering from being hit by a car last season, and he's still feeling rejected by Hannah.

Party Girls
Also in the mix, Hannah's ex-boyfriend/gay best friend, Elijah (Andrew Rannells, above with Williams), has moved in with her, and they're throwing a housewarming party, complete with a karaoke performance of a Sarah McLachlan song. ''Of course, Hannah being Hannah, the party cannot go successfully,'' Dunham reveals. ''Even though she made cheesy pretzels.''
