My mom started watching this show on Netflix about a week ago... she'd somehow never heard of it... I never liked it though so we can't even bond over it(;_;).

She came out of her room all horrified when they switched Doctors this weekend.

So are we getting more recycled aliens? I am tired of the machine men, Daleks, angels, etc etc. lets move on.

I only watched this season for Ben Browder and they killed off his character within 30 minutes so I really DGAF about the rest of it.

I honestly didn't hate series 6, I wasn't too keen on the first half of series 7 (I did like Asylum idgaf) but I'm looking forward to Oswin/Clara. Maybe cause Jenna-Louise Coleman is adorable

Aw, I love Karen and the Babes but tbh I agree that it just couldn't go on for any longer. I mean, I even got bored of Tennant, I'd eventually get bored of them too. Which is why I hate people who are stuck on old companions/Doctors so much. Like, you can love someone a lot, but the whole point of Doctor Who is that it changes, you know?

The 1st part of S7 has been kinda lacking but looking forward to Clara being the new companion.

Even in those intros from CIN you can tell Matt and Jenna have good chemistry together.

I had a wonderful dream last night.

It turned out that an evil witch had cast a spell on half of the Whovian fanbase that made them blind and deaf, but the Doctor came into our dimension and destroyed the witch and so everyone woke up to what a hack Moffat was and he was fired and laughed out of the industry never to be seen or heard from again. Matt Smith, loyal to the end, chose to step out of the shoes and make way for the 12th Doctor rather than continue on without Moffat. The new showrunner, a true hero to all, retconned the fuck out of Moffat Who and restored peace and order to all of the galaxies in all of time and space, and Doctor Who finally had a soul again.

And then it became a nightmare, because I woke up. And cried. I'm still crying.

Is that the Capital building in DC and Big Ben? so is this going to take place in the US and in London??

I can't seem to get excited for this. I think I only stuck around this long because I enjoyed the dynamic between Matt, Karen, and Arthur, even though they had to deal with a lot of shit writing. I just wasn't feeling Clara/Oswin/whatever in the Dalek episode though... I mean I'll give this a shot, but eh.

Also i think River shouldn't show up too soon.
Eleven should get to know Clara and so should we, before making it complicated with River/Ponds baggage.

What i love the most about the doctor and his companions is when they build their trust and friendship tbh and i think having her around will fuck shit up.

This is exactly why I didn't like the series 4 finale where everyone was showing up or Rose showing up on all over series 4 (I absolutely love Martha and even I thought her episodes in s4 were useless). I feel like if you have a companion their series should be THEIR series and I hate people showing up. I didn't mind River in these three last series because she was related to Rory/Amy but now that they're gone she needs to gtfo.
