I'm power hungry, competitive and bossy, so I love it. I also get to wear fabulous clothes. Idk, I never thought I'd like a corporate job but I love mine. They're not all bad, tbh.

the money isn't bad, I can use the internet, and the people aren't bad. There was one woman I fucking hated before, but she retired so it's all good now.

after a while you get used to it.

it's not easy or fun. I've had a really hard time coping with this and the best thing I can say is just to get hobbies you can focus on. I hate that my life revolves around my desk job. up until recently it was all I thought about... filing new contracts, entering new customers, calling salespeople, monitoring leads, etc, even on the weekends and in the evenings. it was all I really thought about

I took up acting a little over a month ago and focusing on that instead, when I'm outside of work, has helped. the problem now is just that when I'm AT work I have a really hard time focusing on work. I'm like NO I WANNA DO MORE ACTING STUFF I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS NEW CUSTOMER ugh

it just doesn't feel natural for me to be doing something I'm so not-passionate about. I hate doing a half-assed job on anything and I can't even help it, I just have no drive for this office job at all

tldr, sorry. I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ON THIS lol

how do i survive? ONTD of course, but honestly:

as a long time salaried / computer-graphics job person, i survive mainly because the companies i've worked for DO NOT MONITOR INTERNET TIME!

if a desk job is in your future, u gotta keep this Big Brother tracking in mind! But again, u won't know the company's internet/playtime policy until you've actually worked there for 1+ weeks.

-think about how i used to be working 2 PT jobs for 55-60 hours a week & be glad i dont do that anymore

I saw Lincoln on Saturday (I thought it was great), then spent yesterday driving back from my parents' house. Pretty good holiday weekend overall. It helped that my about to be homeless, drama-causing aunt didn't come to Thanksgiving dinner.

I spent the holidays writing and writing for myself. I was more productive than I have been in ages and I hope I can keep this momentum going now that I'm back to the day to day grind.

Gah, I stopped seeing my endocrinologist because of this very reason. Granted, I am losing weight and getting healthier now, but her comments about me being overweight were hurtful and counterproductive. What motivated me was my health. I really fucking hate it when doctors make comments like that.

My dad and I were cutting palm branches Friday when this lizard decided to chill on my hand. I was like, you need to get off, son, and the lizard went, LOL NO. And I was like, you have to get off now and the lizard looked at me like, I'M CAMPING, BITCH, I AIN'T GOIN' NOWHERE so I shook my hand but he was like LOL FUCK YOU and clamped down to brace himself. Then I went ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS RN and he was like, FUCK THIS I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU and jumped off.

I always do that with my mom. Last year I bought her a pair of Cole Haan shoes I desperately wanted and only got them for myself in September. So maybe I'll get around to getting a new iPad by my next birthday.
