Life of Pi was awesome and more people need to see it!
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:29 am (UTC)
true, true.
I saw lots of people lining up for it today at my theatre so that was awesome. ;d
wheresandrae 26th-Nov-2012 02:33 am (UTC)
I need to see it this week. I wasn't excited for it at first and I can't understand why because Ang Lee consistently hits it out of the park.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:52 am (UTC)
haha this is me!
when I heard he was doing the project I was pretty much worried for him the entire time 'til I actually watched the damn film.
isuspectnargels 26th-Nov-2012 02:25 am (UTC)
okay I'm confused, I thought Red Dawn had Russia invading America. why the hate on Asian people? did they change it from the original?

I haven't seen either of the movies, all my knowledge of it comes from I Love the 80s oop.
twowaymirrrors 26th-Nov-2012 02:27 am (UTC)
They changed it to China originally and then changed it again to North Korea sometime before they released it.
isuspectnargels 26th-Nov-2012 02:29 am (UTC)
ooookay, yea I figured it was something like that. this whole thing is a hot mess =/
bondagebarbiee 26th-Nov-2012 02:26 am (UTC)
Completely off topic but did anyone watch Justin Bieber perform for the half time for the Grey Cup? A lot of people on facebook are saying that Justin had a big time boner happening in his pants while he was performing.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:29 am (UTC)
o lawd I didn't watch any of the halftime show. all I know is that he got a lot of boos beforehand?
bondagebarbiee 26th-Nov-2012 02:32 am (UTC)
I just wanna see the pics because some people are saying its huge and others saying its small, so I want to see whos lying or not.
skankattack 26th-Nov-2012 02:26 am (UTC)
does anyone have a stream for tonight's Homeland please?
rubie_dubidoux 26th-Nov-2012 02:27 am (UTC)
I saw Flight on Saturday. It was good but so much of it made me so sad

/eloquent review
fauxkaren 26th-Nov-2012 02:27 am (UTC)
I'm thinking about going to see Silver Linings Playbook or Life of Pi next week bc both are playing at my sister's theater.

Idk. Maybe I'll see both.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:29 am (UTC)
I'd rec both, bb!

Life of Pi for sure in 3-D if you can manage it, quite a spectacle. well done, Ang Lee. I just saw SLP today and it was really good as well!
fauxkaren 26th-Nov-2012 02:33 am (UTC)
lol. The theater my sister works at is a janky art house type theater. They are like one of the only theaters in LA that haven't gone digital yet. They still use film prints. So if I want to see Life of Pi in 3D, I'd have to pay. BOOOOO
allopatric 26th-Nov-2012 02:27 am (UTC)
I stayed in, got sick and re-watched Doctor Who to help me feel better
fauxkaren 26th-Nov-2012 02:31 am (UTC)
Which episodes of Doctor Who did you watch?
allopatric 26th-Nov-2012 02:35 am (UTC)
The empty child, The Doctor dances, Gridlock, Utopia, The sound of the drums, Last of the time lords, The stolen earth, and currently watching the journey's end.
katie_g_lynn 26th-Nov-2012 03:40 am (UTC)
I have been watching Doctor Who all weekend, and I CRIED SO HARD during the second season finale when Rose and the Doctor saw goodbye omg omg I was dying. When she asked "Am I ever gonna see you again?" I just lost it. I don't even know why I was so emotional over it.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:27 am (UTC)
watching the Argos/Stampeders game rn but not really getting it bc idk football but STILL, a chance that Toronto has a championship? I'M IN.

went out for sushi today and saw Silver Linings Playbook. really enjoyed it! bradley cooper was easily my fav part. my eyes teared up a few times. jennifer lawrence was also pretty solid. al pacino was fabulous. ELI THOMPSON WAS ALSO IN IT FOR ALL YOU BOARDWALK FANS OUT THERE. I was so happy to see it, lmfao.
realityvsdreams 26th-Nov-2012 04:06 am (UTC)
lol al pacino
twowaymirrrors 26th-Nov-2012 02:28 am (UTC)
I finally got my iphone today so what apps do I have to have?
fauxkaren 26th-Nov-2012 02:39 am (UTC)
Logos Quiz.

lol.

I am jk.

But not really.

My sister has it on her iphone and I can't stop playing it.
squishinator 26th-Nov-2012 02:31 am (UTC)
I saw Flight yesterday. It was just ok for me. Kind of long.

I WANT to see silver linings playbook but its not playing around me, wtf? was it good?
flawlessglitch 26th-Nov-2012 02:41 am (UTC)
I loved it. Bradley Cooper was extraordinary. And...I mean, Robert De Niro. Flawless. Jennifer Lawrence wasn't any better or worse than I was expecting. In all her interviews she talks about how she was too young for the part and after seeing it, I agree. She pulls it off but the whole time I just kept thinking "She's way too young for this, this is not believable."

But Bradley totally made the movie to the point that she didn't really matter to me.
robinsparkle 26th-Nov-2012 03:52 am (UTC)
IA about her being too young. Only because we know she's playing a 16/17 year old in the movie she's massively known for, for her to be a widower and been married for a few years was hard for me to wrap my head around. Thought her acting was fantastic though. Bradley and the relationship with his dad was the best part for me
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:54 am (UTC)
yeah, the release is pretty limited rn still.

really solid! bradley cooper is fabulous in it. it's worth it just watching for him. & pacino. jlaw is solid but the star is bradley.
robinsparkle 26th-Nov-2012 03:50 am (UTC)
Flight was a little long and boring for me as well.

SLP was very good. I personally loved it. Jen, Bradley and DeNiro were amazing
mistyraven 26th-Nov-2012 02:33 am (UTC)
I don't think I got out of bed once yesterday. Was reading and felt like crap :/
beating_heartss 26th-Nov-2012 02:33 am (UTC)
Is $30,000 for two theaters a real bad weekend?
wheresandrae 26th-Nov-2012 02:36 am (UTC)
not real bad, but its bad. I expected Rust and Bone to make more. It should for the actors' amazing performances tbh
beating_heartss 26th-Nov-2012 02:37 am (UTC)
I think it should take into account though that those two theaters were in NYC only so it's like, if that makes a difference? idk I feel like because of that it shouldn't be THAT bad, as if it were one in Los Angeles and one in NyC? lol idk I'm reaching now.
twowaymirrrors 26th-Nov-2012 02:42 am (UTC)
It's actually not bad, especially when you take into account that the per theater average is way higher than anything in the top 10. It's also only in two theaters in one city which severely limits the audience in the first place.
roguezombie 26th-Nov-2012 02:35 am (UTC)
I saw Red Dawn and it was shitty. Josh Peck's character was so unsympathetic.

And of course all the poc die. And Hemsworth's charater's death seemed unnecessary, and that one girl's reaction to it was completely over the top.
anolinde 26th-Nov-2012 03:12 am (UTC)
I agree with all of this. I was so pissed off when that person died. It was completely anticlimactic.
__angelofmusic 26th-Nov-2012 02:36 am (UTC)
I went to a local animal shelter in search of a new dog. My friend is going to help me adopt one for Christmas. Oh, and I saw No Doubt in concert last night. AWESOME.

sandstorm 26th-Nov-2012 02:37 am (UTC)
How To Train Your Dragon is on. I need this soundtrack.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:55 am (UTC)
I LOVE THAT MOVIE SFM. :)
twowaymirrrors 26th-Nov-2012 03:04 am (UTC)
I love that movie!
allysouu 26th-Nov-2012 03:18 am (UTC)
That movie is one of my favorites. Same with the soundtrack.
nebulous_mirage 26th-Nov-2012 05:45 am (UTC)
Really? Where?

Flawless movie, flawless music.
