i saw silver linings playbook...it was good imo i really liked it

and i saw wreck-it ralph and loved it and cried in the theater during it. my little brother was side-eyeing me so hard
sandstorm 26th-Nov-2012 02:14 am (UTC)
I didn't cry at the parts they clearly wanted us too, somehow I did after

they bake her cart.

joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:30 am (UTC)

flawlessglitch 26th-Nov-2012 02:28 am (UTC)
Same on both accounts. Really liked Silver Linings Playbook and cried like a baby during Wreck It Ralph.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:30 am (UTC)
I saw Wreck-It Ralph TWICE bc I loved it sfm. cried both times. gdi that movie was way more emotional than its advertisements!
__angelofmusic 26th-Nov-2012 02:32 am (UTC)
I'm hoping to see Silver Linings Playbook next weekend. I'm finishing up the book right now.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have been through something similar when I watched my cat get killed by coyotes, and I could do nothing but cry and grieve for the next few days. You should take all the time you need to grieve and get through it.
xcollsangelx 26th-Nov-2012 04:05 am (UTC)

Finally saw Skyfall. It was amazing.
ichdontthinksoo 26th-Nov-2012 01:55 am (UTC)
There's something very weird and Paz Vega like about that blonde chick in the Red Dawn poster.
conveythemelody 26th-Nov-2012 02:00 am (UTC)
dem eyebrows.
bodyline 26th-Nov-2012 01:55 am (UTC)
Worked all day Friday and all day Saturday, ugh.

Saw Life of Pi today and it was amaaaaaaaaazing. The woman who played Pi's mother was sf gorgeous, omg.

Looking forward to a root canal tomorrow followed by some online retail therapy.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:31 am (UTC)
yikes, I hope it won't be too bad for you tomorrow!

ahhhh that's what I was thinking too! she was so gorgeous. Pi's father is a lucky man. ugh I love the casting of that entire family, tbh.
ms_mmelissa 26th-Nov-2012 01:57 am (UTC)
Saw Rust and Bone and was in love with all the parts that involved Marion Cotillard's character Stephanie and bored with all the other parts.

I didn't know that it was based on a couple of short stories by a Canadian writer until after. Definitely thinking of picking the book up and checking them out now though.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:33 am (UTC)
I feel like I never know films are adaptations 'til I'm at chapters/indigo and they start promoting it. pretty cool though.

I actually enjoyed Matthias Schoenaerts' performance more than Marion's, which I wasn't expecting!
ms_mmelissa 26th-Nov-2012 02:44 am (UTC)
LOL same here. On the one hand I kind of suck for not knowing more books, on the other hand it's made me discover so many books I wouldn't have normally found.

BTW did you ever end up seeing Midnight's Children (I think it was you I was discussing that with...?) I'm probably going to end up seeing it on half-price tuesday before it disappears completely from theatres. Poor, ignored canadian cinema.
djtino224 26th-Nov-2012 01:57 am (UTC)
My parents saw Lincoln and have been raving about it. I guess I need to put it on my list. lol
pamuya 26th-Nov-2012 02:06 am (UTC)
it's not good tbh

the acting is, but not the script
rhapsodeeinblue 26th-Nov-2012 02:11 am (UTC)
I enjoyed it. It depends on what you're interested in (but that goes without saying for, like, every movie, so yeah).
littlehayzay 26th-Nov-2012 02:18 am (UTC)
It's SO BORING. The acting is all really great - the makeup, everything is spot on except NOTHING HAPPENS. Then they pull a bullshit ending on you where you think you're going to get to see Lincoln shot BUT NOPE. IT'S JUST HIS WHINY CREEPY CHILD CRYING AND FOR SOME REASON CLINGING TO A BANNISTER.
marsdeafaden 26th-Nov-2012 02:41 am (UTC)
I saw it with my mom and we both loved it. It starts out a bit slow IMO.
pippa_middleton 26th-Nov-2012 01:58 am (UTC)
My weekend was beyond boring. My family are acting like assholes, the football is on 24/7, and I've been stuck in the house going out of my mind.

Edited at 2012-11-26 01:58 am (UTC)
smokesinatra 26th-Nov-2012 02:03 am (UTC)
this is the time of year where football is just too much. idek why, it's not even ~superbowl time~ but I feel like all football fans get really obnoxious right around the end of november
pippa_middleton 26th-Nov-2012 02:07 am (UTC)
This is my father rn. He has it on all freaking day, he barely leaves the house because of it, and to make matters worse he has a running commentary whether or not anyone is actually in the room.OMG i just want it to end :(
allons_y42 26th-Nov-2012 01:58 am (UTC)
Has anyone seen A Late Quartet yet? I love the trailer but it seems like one of those movies that could go ever way
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:34 am (UTC)
it's not out here yet but I've seen the trailer once before Searching for Sugar Man (a really good doc, omg) and I want to see it!
twowaymirrrors 26th-Nov-2012 01:59 am (UTC)
I wish Silver Linings Playbook would get a wider release because I want to be able to go to the closer (and better tbh) theater to see it.
beck_rocks 26th-Nov-2012 01:59 am (UTC)
i saw silver lining today. it was really good, it made me like bradley cooper. my favourite part was the montage put to a dylan song
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:34 am (UTC)
aw same.
tbh, I'm a sucker for montages.
thesegoto11 26th-Nov-2012 02:56 am (UTC)
lol I got so excited when I heard a zeppelin and a dylan song in there
arwens 26th-Nov-2012 02:00 am (UTC)
I watched Lincoln earlier this week, and last night I watched blade runner. But this whole week has been utterly shitty. I found out my dad is getting laid off from work, so now I'm looking for a second job. My financial aid work study is no where near enough money.
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:35 am (UTC)
sorry for how tough things are rn, bb. hang in there.♥
arwens 26th-Nov-2012 02:36 am (UTC)

I'm sorry bb :(
maryhurt 26th-Nov-2012 02:00 am (UTC)
I'm watching Valley Girl rn, and it's either brilliant, or one of the worst things I've seen in my life.
bananasnrum 26th-Nov-2012 02:10 am (UTC)
I love that movie. It's neither brilliant or terrible. Enjoyable and light.
maryhurt 26th-Nov-2012 02:36 am (UTC)
omg hyacinth. it's so bad, I just gave up.

I think Nicolas will only ever be watchable to me in Wild at Heart.
starshineblue 26th-Nov-2012 02:23 am (UTC)
I love that movie. It's so great to watch when you just want to chill out and not think. Also, "Fuck you, fer sure, like totally" is one of my fav phrases.
stormer1_1 26th-Nov-2012 04:00 am (UTC)
Don't put another dime in the jukebox, I don't wanna hear that song no mooooooooooooooooooooooooooore
xcollsangelx 26th-Nov-2012 04:06 am (UTC)
LOL I love that movie for how awful it is.

ohkimosabe 26th-Nov-2012 02:01 am (UTC)
im waiting for movies to come out on red box from now on. there are a few on this list that i want to see!
smokesinatra 26th-Nov-2012 02:02 am (UTC)
I mentioned it in the last box office post but I saw rise of the guardians and really liked it and recommend it to other people! I hope it does well so I can get a sequel lmao

this weekend I got acting headshots made and I can't decide what I'm going to use for my resume ughhh I'm stuck between smiling 01 versus smiling 02 and I'm between dramatic 01 and dramatic 02
bodyline 26th-Nov-2012 02:05 am (UTC)
damn girl, you're gorgeous *A*

smiling 02 is the best imo!!
smokesinatra 26th-Nov-2012 02:09 am (UTC)

ms_mmelissa 26th-Nov-2012 02:08 am (UTC)

Smiling 2 and Dramatic 2 are great
conveythemelody 26th-Nov-2012 02:09 am (UTC)
I like smiling 2!
isuspectnargels 26th-Nov-2012 02:13 am (UTC)
lmao I knew it was going to be you before I even clicked the links. I'd go with the second smiling and the second dramatic.
iluvkidnappers 26th-Nov-2012 02:14 am (UTC)
def. smiling 2 if you're going for an older look
pirate_smiles 26th-Nov-2012 02:15 am (UTC)
I'm seeing Rise of the Guardians tomorrow. I'm really excited.

smiling 02 and dramatic 02

Ginny Weasley, what are you doing here?!

smiling 02 and dramatic 01 :)
etoile_amore 26th-Nov-2012 02:33 am (UTC)
omg, you hair/eye colour combination is to die for

love smiling 2
joaniemaloney 26th-Nov-2012 02:36 am (UTC)
smiling 02 and dramatic 01! :)

but you are really pretty.
anolinde 26th-Nov-2012 03:08 am (UTC)
Smiling 2 and Dramatic 1 - you're wicked pretty!
pimpmytardis 26th-Nov-2012 03:15 am (UTC)
I thought for just a second that you were someone I know! I agree that smiling 1 could be useful for younger roles but 2 is better for general adult and for MFA programs and the like. I like dramatic 2 better, especially if you're submitting with smiling 2 because you can see two angles of your jawbone. Dramatic 1 looks like you're a little nervous- you're clenching your jaw more and your eyes are wider than in 2.

I'm not even an actor but I work in theatre so I need to get fucking headshots for programs and stuff. :\ I'm trying to see if I might be able to crop a photo from a wedding I was in and just see if that works.
soavantgarde 26th-Nov-2012 03:31 am (UTC)
you are absolutely lovely! I'm so jealous of your hair color

I like smiling 2 and dramatic 1 best :)
_myaugust 27th-Nov-2012 12:19 am (UTC)
Smiling 1 and dramatic 2.

Smiling 2 is great but half your face isn't in focus, so I'd scrap it. If the photographer had the focal point on both of your eyes, it'd be a definite winner.
