They are both produced by him, but yeah I seem to hate the endings of most movies he is associated with.

ikr? The title is a bit misleading. He's only producer not Director.

"only producer"

producers make all the real decisions/they win the oscars/etc. it's every bit of del toro's movie as it is muschietti's.

That was my understanding.

plz, this is just name baiting lbr, nobody would do that if the director was more famous than the producer

so? it gets the job done. no one gives a fuck about unknowns.

You're making a lot of generalizations about an unbelievably broadly-defined role. In this particular instance, the most Del Toro could possibly have done was help the filmmakers develop their short film into a feature-length property, but chances are he wasn't even involved enough to do that--he probably just picked up the property for his production company, which handled all the actual producing logistics, and attached his name to assist with fundraising and publicity. This isn't a slight, mind you, just a realistic perspective on what it actually means for someone like Del Toro to attach his name to a movie that wasn't his intellectual property (versus, say, Tim Burton on Nightmare, which at the very least was actually derived from characters and material created by Burton).
