have you seen The Orphanage? I recommend it. I don't think I've seen anything that has lived up to it since I watched it tbh

I honestly can't even think of any. I've watched SO many horror movies and I can't even say which would be my fav. And I hate myself for that :/

None in recent times. They are all so silly.

Mostly because all of them do not have a hint of mystery to them. I think that's what made the 70's horror films so good was because the Evil was always vague. It was psychological terror.

The Orphanage was scary the first time I saw it, but now it just makes me sad. :(
