How was your Friday night, ONTD?

I really liked ParaNorman. It's too bad it didn't do better.
walker_sarah 25th-Nov-2012 02:29 am (UTC)
aww it didn't? it was really cute and I like the animations
twowaymirrrors 25th-Nov-2012 02:33 am (UTC)
Not really. It did make back its budget with the worldwide gross, but it didn't do big numbers like other animated movies tend to. I think the promo and release time was a little weird though. It's a perfect Halloween time movie but they released it at the end of the summer.

They didn't want to compete with Frankenweenie.
twowaymirrrors 25th-Nov-2012 02:38 am (UTC)
Which makes sense but they could've released it a few weeks later. I mean, I saw it the weekend before (or possibly the same weekend) Frankenweenie came out and there were a good number of people in the theater.

idt it would have done so well. Laika doesn't really aim for 'big' movies really. And I think if they would have released it closer to Frankenweenie Disney would have blown them out of the water with advertising even more than they were already doing.
