saw Life of Pi on Thursday and really enjoyed it. very solid adaptation of the book, I was initially weary of how the trailer made it out to be but yeah, I felt hopeful for the journey even though I knew how it would all end. Ang Lee has got some major talent to make that boat ordeal engrossing the entire time. he put so much heart into that and YES THE FILM WAS GORGEOUS. I saw it in 3-D and it was stunning.
well, I made it a double feature just now and watched Holy Motors and On the Road today. I'm pretty tired out, ha. the former? weird and definitely experimental, a bit of a dive for me because I never watch that type of film. never knew what to expect and I think the ride was worth it. the latter? boring. I think there will be people that enjoyed it (performances were all right - yes, even kstew, nothing wrong with the stylistic choices, etc. didn't have enough for me to care about the characters, basically). I am not exactly the target audience for either of these two movies, tbh.]
I did go for dimsum [brunch] today with the fam as our weekly tradition and that was fun. tomorrow, I'm off for sushi and Silver Linings Playbook, which I'm really looking forward to.
