Cooking with your kids is super important. Not to take away from your snark, but last year my husband did a composting workshop with a group of 7-9 year olds and some couldn't identify cucumber or turnips. Something like this would get a kid into cooking and it could be a special thing you do together.
If I had kids I would have one made.
