Noel Gallagher has spelled out what it would take for an Oasis reunion to happen – he'd need to be stony broke.
The High Flying Birds man made the comments on Channel 4's Chatty Man, where he told host Alan Carr:What would it take? It would take Liam or myself to be very skint, and I know for a fact that ain't gonna happen. So other than that, I can't see it.The singer also spoke about how he will approach talking to his children about drugs, admitting that it would be rich for him to preach abstinence given his well-documented history with cigarettes and alcohol – and more. Gallagher said he was "dreading" his children's teenage years as he's in no position to lecture them, so would instead say, "Everything in moderation, lads. And just remember: you will never be as cool as your dad. Remember that."
Earlier this week, The Who's Roger Daltrey told NME that Noel Gallagher is set to curate next year's Concerts For Teenage Cancer Trust.
The gigs, which Daltrey founded in 2000, have been staged every year by the charity's patron at London's Royal Albert Hall. Daltrey will pass the baton on to the ex-Oasis chief in 2013 to allow him to concentrate on touring. Gallagher has performed a series of solo gigs at the venue for the charity over the years. His brother Liam's band Beady Eye played in 2011.

I'm doing a research paper that centers around britpop atm and it's so funny when you're combing through interviews of all of the big bands for info, it's like:
damon albarn: "something reasonably thoughtful and intelligent"
jarvis cocker: "something reasonably thoughtful and intelligent if slightly longer-winded"
gallaghers, doesn't matter which one: "mumble mumble mumble FOOK THOSE BASTARDS mumble FOOKIN BASTARDS mumble mumble"
#2: I LOL'ed. And I agreed.
serge and jane are always <3
Jarvis is so weird but fab.
IA Damon is super self-important but I like that about him, ha.
Honestly, self-importance doesn't bother me overmuch if I feel like the person has earned it (I stan for Kanye, enough said there :P) and I think that Damon has, so idgaf. I find it more amusing coming from Liam Gallagher because lbr here everyone knows that Noel pulled the weight in Oasis.
Aw Supergrass <3 my youth
the only 90s band who's current stuff i still listen to is Radiohead, tbh.
I listen to Blur's 'new stuff' (but lbr that is a handful of songs this decade) but I follow Damon and Gra's solo careers and Alex's cheese exploits, and I listen to Jarvis every Sunday <3 god bless but generally IA that those bands are ~frozen in time for me.
Supergrass in particular remind me of one particular summer in my childhood :)
lol we were in a pub a little while ago and Disco 2000 came on. i'll always have a fondness for that because it was all over the charts when i visited the UK for the first time. it was literally everywhere. i can't hear it without thinking of that trip, so that's nice.
what Graham Coxon stuff would you recommend? i've never really followed the Blur guys too closely, in all honesty.

If you don't like that stuff don't rule him out, every other album he does is pretty different from the prior albums, he gives me whiplash.
Argh Radiohead live sound amazing, I'd love to see them. Did you cry?
also? Ed O'Brien is foooooiiiiiine.
(not my picture. i only wish i was that close.)
the thing is i never really minded Blur, i just thought Damon was a twat. so Graham's stuff is pretty well up my street. is it better to work through is albums chronologically? or is there one that's a better starting point?

With Graham if you are feeling boppy I'd start with Happiness in Magazines or Love Travels At Illegal Speeds (not just because they are my favs, umhum) or The Spinning Top if you are feeling chilled. His new album A+E is pretty dance and electro-y but there is some fun stuff on there too, particularly:

He really is so brilliant, I hope you enjoy!
Throw some Radiohead songs my way? I need to listen to more of their stuff because I've enjoyed everything I've heard.
anything you get from me re: Radiohead is probably going to be pre-2000, so chances are you've heard it. In Rainbows is my favorite of their newer albums
Weird Fishes - http://youtu.be/zdFqkhX0lN4
House of Cards - http://youtu.be/6c1uzNymHwk
Reckoner - http://youtu.be/yt4DZIx02gQ (in which Jonny Greenwood plays a lemon. i'm not kidding.)
but Fake Plastic Trees will always be my absolute favorite, and this live version is just THE. BEST.

Ed and Jonny going to town on their guitars in the crescendo MAH LAWD.
i think i will always love their 90s albums the best, i am such a 90s baby lol.
Thank you for these links, I'm going to have a day reminiscing with Radiohead.
all your fault.
I'm glad! I could listen to Ooh, Yeh Yeh all day.
I have zero musical knowledge outside of 'oh I like that pretty noise' but I'm told Graham is a very talented guitarist in a technical sense ;)
considering the guy is like a fucking music savant.
i like folksy. folksy is good. i also like your icon <3 King Firth <3
seriously, that sounds like the best thing ever.
and lol at how accurate your assessment is.
Ray and Dave Davies (of The Kinks) had a fraternal feud... before it was cool.
Honestly, media-hyped sibling rivalry is so passé...
take a seat, Gallaghers, let the pros show you how its done.
Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? are two of my all time favourite albums so I'll always have a soft side for these 2 but this bickering and talking shit about each other in the media is super annoying.
With the right reason or pay they'll be back.
his brother on the other hand can fall in front of something fast and deadly.
