'The Good Wife' casts 'Twin Peaks' star Kyle MacLachlan

Kyle MacLachlan has signed up for a role on The Good Wife.

The Twin Peaks star will appear in several episodes of the CBS legal drama, TVLine reports.

MacLachlan will play a mysterious character with a connection to Eli Gold (Alan Cumming).

The 53-year-old actor recently starred on fellow CBS series Made in Jersey, but the series was axed after just two episodes.

MacLachlan is best known for his role as Special Agent Dale Cooper on Twin Peaks and has also appeared in Desperate Housewives and Sex and the City. His film credits include 1986's Blue Velvet and 1995's Showgirls.

It was recently confirmed that Friends actor Matthew Perry - currently starring in NBC's Go On - will reprise his Good Wife role of Chicago attorney Mike Kresteva in a forthcoming episode.

The Good Wife continues on Sundays at 9/8c on CBS. In the UK, More4 airs the drama.

That's a damn fine source link.
I hope in that ep it's revealed that Diane Lockhart is the Diane from Twin Peaks.
