Adele's music voted the most popular to fall asleep to

The music of Adele has been voted as the most popular to fall asleep to.

In a survey of 2000 people undertaken by hotel chain Travelodge – via Capital FM – Adele was found to be the top artist to help people fall asleep at night.

She was followed by Coldplay, who previously topped the poll in 2008 and 2010.

Snow Patrol and One Direction also featured in the Travelodge Top Five.

Travelodge quoted Edinburgh Sleep Centre expert Stevie Williams while giving the results of the poll. Williams said: "Results from various sleep studies undertaken with a variety of male and female groups, has indicated that listening to soft, relaxing music at bedtime leads to a number of different benefits to a night's sleep."

Earlier this month, Adele said she would only lose weight if it affected her "health or sex life".

According to The Sun, she said: "I read a comment on YouTube that I thought would upset me – 'Test pilot for pies' – but I've always been fine with it. I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn't."

Adele gave birth to her first child last month. In a recent interview, a spokesperson from Adele's record company XL said they didn't expect the follow-up to her hugely successful second LP, '21', for quite some time. The comment came after the news that the British indie label made £41 million in profit in 2011.

i used to sleep with the tv on for years and then was annoyed by being awoken by advertisements or porn, if it was cinemax, so i got used to silence. then, paranormal activity happened. ever since that came out, every time i try to do silence, i always swear i feel something watching me. fucking movie. only times i do silence is if i'm sleeping w/my boyfriend or if i am traveling w/friends

I start yawning the minute that I start singing along to songs.

I don't know what it is that makes me yawn but it happens every time

Okay, I just got back from black friday..well thursday and i got a nook tablet for $99 because it was mad in there and i was filled with the high of shopping crazy..what do you think of it vs the ipad? i played with my cousins one and it seems cool but i really wanted the ipad instead but does it really matter?

i want to treat it like a mini computer really? i got the receipt tucked safely for return -_-

sidebar i got all 3 seasons of vampire diaries for $30 and fight club blu ray for $4!
gnarlsbarkley 23rd-Nov-2012 05:41 am (UTC)
if you want to use it as a mini-computer, it's not really going to work. it's an incredible e-reader and you can do a couple of other fun things on it, but if you want it to fully function as a backup, then you need to get a better tablet. nooks/kindles that aren't the super fancy ones and even then don't really function as such

I wish there was a black friday post. I got Veronica Mars season 1 and Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows bluray for $4. I can't think of anything else I want/need right now. I'm sure I will remember twelve things when the deal is over.

I'd say go with your gut. If you really want an ipad, get that. Unless the $200-300 (how much are they going for?) price difference breaks the bank. $99 is a good deal if it's a decent tablet.

I'm not here for my sleep being fucked with. Tbh I'm at my worst if someone wakes me when I'm trying to sleep.

After I was robbed, I decided to stay at my friend's place for the night. I couldn't sleep because she had a CD playing of just thunderstorms. It made me anxious all night. Well, more anxious.

the only time I ever need to fall asleep with music is if I have to distract my brain from thinking so I can sleep. That is extremely rare, though. I usually sleep in total darkness and silence.
powerbottom 23rd-Nov-2012 05:47 am (UTC)
I usually just put on the radio but Lana's music is so fucking relaxing to me.

I feel like she's serenading me to sleep. It's lovely.
