in simplistic terms, israel is illegally occupying territories in that geographic region. zionists decided to begin colonising the region with the view of restoring the original jewish homeland. ww2 led to even more jews immigrating to israel. palestinians have been kicked off of land that there ancestors have lived on for centuries. Fighting ensues.
