One Direction's sophomore album 'Take Me Home' breaks records

One Direction, that famous boy band from the U.K., comprised of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik--have already broken records with their sophomore album Take Me Home.

According to a report from USA Today, Take Me Home, which features hit singles like Live While We're Young and Little Things (bleh), is taking the boys to huge heights.

Released just last week, Take Me Home has already sold 540,000 units. That makes it the year's third highest debuting album, underneath Taylor Swift's Red--boasting 1.2 million units sold during its first week and Mumford and Sons' album Babel, which debuted in September to 600,000 sales.

Niall Horan told fans just days ago that he and the 1D guys were 'nervous about the new release.'

Harry Styles says they 'can't thank their fans enough.'

One Direction definitely has a devoted fan base and it spreads itself around the world. If the first week of Take Me Home is any indication of what's to come for the 1D boys, they'll no doubt revel in the glory of this record breaking album throughout a good part of 2013.

Have you bought your copy or download of Take Me Home yet? Do you think any of the cuts on this new album can compete with What Makes You Beautiful--the most successful single on their first album Up All Night?
