New York City, NY – Nicki Minaj was turned away from her own album release party by the NYPD because the Greenhouse Nightclub was over capacity. The host of the event allegedly showed up very tardy to the party with a large entourage.
Minaj was slated to co-host the album release party that she and Smirnoff Ice Cake sponsored. The 29-year-old singer was supposed to make an appearance at the gathering with Fabolous and Flo Rida, according to Radar Online.
A source for the celebrity news website had this to say about the incident between Nicki Minaj and the NYPD:
“Nicki turned up to the club with about 25 people at 3:30 in the morning. She wanted to celebrate with her fans, but she was denied entry at the door by the police because they said the venue was at capacity and there was nothing they could do to accommodate her. Nicki wasn’t happy about it, so she and her group just left.”
Minaj’s new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up was officially released on November 19. The singer also hosted an online album release party via Facebook the day the album hit stores, according to Pop Crush. Fans had the chance to RSVP on Facebook and then visit the MyPinkFriday.com website to join in the fun.
Nicki Minaj’s new album was reportedly released in special bundle packages. Some of the exclusive merchandise that was noted as available with the Pink Friday album included an autographed photo, t-shirt, compact, bracelet, or a hoodie.
