There's some major tinkering going down at FOX's "The Mindy Project": co-star Anna Camp will shift from full-time regular to recurring status, while Amanda Setton will exit the series.
The critically acclaimed first-year comedy already received an expanded full-season order from FOX, but has struggled to find an audience in its five airings to date.

Didn't mindy find out that her boyfriend (the blond guy) was engaged???? Or even married? Did I make this up, or was that resolved?
These leavings make sense. I really enjoyed the best friend relationship, especially in tonight's episode, but the character did not fit integrate with the rest of the show at all, and it always felt weird when she popped in. I love Amanda Setton, but she was playing the exact same character she played on OLTL, and that sort of over-the-top campiness did not transfer well from daytime to primetime.
I just don't want her to get with danny, I like what's happening with Josh and Mindy's other dates/ boyfriends are really entertaining as well. I like Danny being grumpy on the sidelines.
I totally didn't recognize Josh as that incest-y arsonist unsub in that one ep of CM tho. he is qt
Wonder what the "creative reasons" were. Maybe she didn't want to just be eye candy; that's understandable. tbh she's the only character whose leaving isn't a big loss to the show, so I guess that says it all.
I hope the show does well! I'd be sad if it didn't stick around.
Mindy needs to go watch season 2 of Parks and Rec to take note of how to develop a supporting cast and find the show's groove.
Like, she says rude things to him about his divorce when it's a painful subject to him, and he calls her fat. I guess we're supposed to find that cute? I feel like, why should people who talk to each other like that date? I like them as friends, but I can't root for someone to date a person who body-shames them or someone who uses their painful divorce against them.
I also found it really creepy that he wanted to be her ob/gyn, even if he was only saying it to ~test her. It was gross that he would even suggest it when he is attracted to her and she doesn't realize it.
ETA: Oh! And I love Mindy's delivery and timing, but she mumbles. Sometimes I have to rewind 3 times just to figure out what she's saying, and it's often a really clever line.

In other words, I'm okay with people leaving.
I haven't watched last night's episode yet, but I'm still getting second-hand embarrassment and residual laughs from last week's opening scene -- him putting on her jeans...so uncomfortably hilarious.
This show has potential and I'm sticking with it.
