Kristen Stewart’s Stylist To Kristen Stewart: ‘Please, Please, Please Put the Heel On’

Anyone who’s seen photos of Kristen Stewart in one of her perpetually occurring thousand-dollar-gown-and-ratty-sneakers getups (and doesn’t make a living scouring the Internet for this sort of information like we do!) may be surprised to learn that the Twilight star works with a professional stylist. Alas, it’s true.

Her name is Tara Swennen, and she wishes Stewart would wear heels just as much as the rest of us. Unlike the rest of us, Swennen actually gets paid to try and convince Stewart to wear heels. And most of the time, it still doesn’t work. Swennen told The Cut.

[Kristen] will always change into her Converse by halfway through a carpet, which is to be expected at this point, but she puts on the heels for me for the photos, God bless her. [...] I clearly prefer heel. But it’s part of her personality; I think it’s fun when she does it. There are definitely times when I have to say, ‘Please, please, please put the heel on just for me.’

seriously, stop that business. i know it's ~cool~ to have years old, ratty converse, but you're not 16 anymore.
ronnie_luvs_u 21st-Nov-2012 04:31 am (UTC)
I bet her feet are stank. ratty sneakers with no socks on. gross.
batty_gal 21st-Nov-2012 04:31 am (UTC)
that foot funk could probably greet you from across a football field.
ronnie_luvs_u 21st-Nov-2012 04:33 am (UTC)

kurtvonnegut 21st-Nov-2012 04:41 am (UTC)
i own so many heels but i always end up reaching for my flats. such a waste of my $$$ but i'm always afraid i'm going end up like having to walk a mile or something lmao
murdered_beauty 21st-Nov-2012 04:43 am (UTC)
I love heels but I always feel much more comfortable with wedges and walking around with them even hanging out with people.

The friends I used to hang out with was always like "Why are you wearing those!? ugh." :/
vivisexion 21st-Nov-2012 04:47 am (UTC)
so do i. tbh i wear them all the time for no reason. i have no problem walking in them and they typically fit me better than flats and tennis shoes b/c i have very narrow feet idk
courtkneee1 21st-Nov-2012 05:30 am (UTC)
same! i love my heels but i don't really get to wear them much :(
x_butterfly19_x 21st-Nov-2012 11:20 am (UTC)

leopard_legs 21st-Nov-2012 04:05 pm (UTC)

forevergold217 21st-Nov-2012 04:32 am (UTC)

lloydsgurl 21st-Nov-2012 04:34 am (UTC)
converse are really fucking uncomfortable
sugarcrawler 21st-Nov-2012 04:35 am (UTC)
thay have no arch support thats why
forgethissmile 21st-Nov-2012 04:37 am (UTC)
I've never understood their appeal. They're obnoxious to get on, uncomfortable to wear ... I'll pass.
my_moloko 21st-Nov-2012 04:38 am (UTC)
So true. I bought one pair and never again! Also they made my feet sweat.
ebenetwo 21st-Nov-2012 04:39 am (UTC)
they really are, i thought it was just me
squirrelsarerad 21st-Nov-2012 04:40 am (UTC)
I want to like them, but they always rub the back of my heels so bad.
lumosofmylife 21st-Nov-2012 04:43 am (UTC)
I find them to be extremely comfortable.
lloydsgurl 21st-Nov-2012 04:52 am (UTC)
I mean, I wear them on occasion, but I don't enjoy it.
emerald_soul 21st-Nov-2012 04:54 am (UTC)
I do for shopping trips and such, but when I was working in a cafe, NO.
cerseilannister 22nd-Nov-2012 10:32 am (UTC)
same, but heels don't hurt my feet either so i must have not have v sensitive feet.
vivisexion 21st-Nov-2012 04:48 am (UTC)
so true! i got a pair when i was in undergrad b/c i thought they'd be comfy for walking around campus, and they were so not. they have no support and they rubbed on my heels. fuck converse.
audrey_za 21st-Nov-2012 04:54 am (UTC)
Basically.
thishollywood 21st-Nov-2012 05:06 am (UTC)
I was reading a post on another website about weddings and at least five special snowflake women cmnted how they had their entire wedding party wear converse shoes so they would be more comfortable.

I was like eww that's fug and sounds trashy imo
sexyvegeta 21st-Nov-2012 05:45 am (UTC)
yeah they're awful. I have a pair of them just to wear to a friends house or something, I'd never use them for walking.
hypnology 21st-Nov-2012 04:35 am (UTC)
Personally I love heels. They make me legs look so nice.
forgethissmile 21st-Nov-2012 04:35 am (UTC)
Tight, scratchy, physically stifling dress.

Worn out, dirty sneakers because she "needs to be comfortable".

Mhmm. Makes total sense.
forgethissmile 21st-Nov-2012 04:36 am (UTC)
Also, I'm 5'11" and I fucking love heels. I never wear them (especially since my husband is only 6') but I always try them on at like DSW and Payless and end up getting the ones on clearance.
hypnology 21st-Nov-2012 04:44 am (UTC)
Rock them! My ex was only an inch taller than me and he had a fear of tall girls, but I still wore my heels.
hjohnson 21st-Nov-2012 02:21 pm (UTC)
I like how you say your husband is only 6 feet tall... most of the guys I know are at most 5'10... it's weird being bigger than most of my guy friends.
my_moloko 21st-Nov-2012 04:37 am (UTC)
Y'know what? FUCK HEELS. They kill my feet. I can only wear expensive shoes because my feet are ridiculous and even then, after maybe 20 minutes my feet hurt like hell. Why should women constantly be forced to wear stupid shoes that are impossible to walk in and make it really easy to get injured in? Flats for everyone!

Seriously though, she could at least choose a pair of sneakers that don't look so dirty.
squirrelsarerad 21st-Nov-2012 04:37 am (UTC)
I live in sneakers and flip flops. I have 1 pair of work shoes that I wear every day, but that's mostly because I can never find cute dress shoes that fit. Fuck my wide size 11 feet tbh.

I've never once found a pair of heels that fit....not that I really want them because a) I dont want to be any taller and b) I'm always tipping over and rolling my ankles as it is. But still. Shoe shopping sucks. /end rant
judgmental 21st-Nov-2012 04:38 am (UTC)
I can't wear heels, I personally feel like I look ridiculous for some reason
judgmental 21st-Nov-2012 04:38 am (UTC)
well I have some booties with a little bit of heel and some dressy flats

I would never wear a dress with my chucks, this isn't middle school ffs
headswillroll88 21st-Nov-2012 04:58 am (UTC)
same, it's so not me and i can't walk in them
psubookworm27 21st-Nov-2012 05:32 am (UTC)
I'm picturing Thor saying that and it's making me giggle.
sandvich 21st-Nov-2012 04:39 am (UTC)
I love the way I look in heels, but it's such a pain to find a pair that doesn't hurt. Flats 4 lyfe.

hershelwalker 21st-Nov-2012 04:39 am (UTC)
lol I don't really get the people saying "let her wear sneakers if she wants, just make sure they're nice ones". like what kind of contradictory nonsense.

anyways those shoes are hideous and the outfit looks terrible.
vivisexion 21st-Nov-2012 04:49 am (UTC)
iawtc
rocksaltme 21st-Nov-2012 04:49 am (UTC)
It's okay to wear what you want, as long as 'what you want' meets the required levels of aesthetically pleasing that the person judging you has set. Obvs.
winegums 21st-Nov-2012 04:15 pm (UTC)
idt it's contradictory to wish her shoes were CLEAN.

hershelwalker 21st-Nov-2012 08:59 pm (UTC)
it is tho
forthe_asking 21st-Nov-2012 04:40 am (UTC)
There are so many booties this fall/winter season with high heels that are so incredibly fugly. I can't even.
hypnology 21st-Nov-2012 04:48 am (UTC)
I hate tall boots with high heels. Like it's snowing, it's icey, do they want me to fall and break my ankle? And I say this as someone who walks quite well in heels.
