WHEN BLACK FRIDAY COMES: Today's HITS album sales chart has just closed and we’re already peering into our crystal ball for next week, folks, thanks to one-day sales reports from those retailers around the country who haven’t succumbed to tryptophan shock. Heading into holiday weekend, our retail experts ask for your indulgence, with a greater than usual margin of error due to cranberry consumption. Look for Def Jam/IDJ chanteuse Rihanna’s Unapologetic to sell between 240-260k, her biggest debut ever, which is probably good enough to make her #1 next week. Atlantic’s Kid Rock takes advantage of his availability at iTunes for the first time with an estimate of 160-180k for his new, pro-Mitt Romney album, Rebel Soul. 19/Interscope American Idol winner Phillip Phillips’ The World from the Side of the Moon will bow with between 140-160k. Atlantic/Rhino’s Led Zeppelin CD/DVD Celebration, recorded at their much-ballyhooed reunion show at London’s 02 Arena in 2007, should do in the 90-100k range. Geffen diva Keyshia Cole’s Woman to Woman is on target for 75-85k, while 19/RCA Idol album Kelly Clarkson’s greatest hits compilation looks good for 45-50k. RCA Latin star Pitbull’s Global Warning should do 35-40k, while Capitol stalwart Coldplay’s Live 2012 CD/DVD will sell in the 30-35k range. (11/20p)

her previous albums could've been #1 had they picked their weeks right
peachie_ego 20th-Nov-2012 10:47 pm (UTC)
Not even going to hate on the Navy for this. I really love the album.
sassandthecity 20th-Nov-2012 10:47 pm (UTC)
I don't care, I really like the album. For as many dancey songs on it, it's quite a really somber mood that I like.
bitchboobye 20th-Nov-2012 10:48 pm (UTC)
#1 album, #1 single and a worldwide stadium tour

and people doubt rihanna is the biggest popstar in the world?
persephonefive 21st-Nov-2012 12:50 am (UTC)
whatever, be that as it may, she still needs to work on her stage presence all that means nothing to me.
rabbitncavylove 21st-Nov-2012 04:35 am (UTC)
she hasn't yet had a #1 album and she was a singles artist mostly

and case could be made for lady gaga, madonna, katy perry or britney still
bitchboobye 21st-Nov-2012 07:13 am (UTC)
she's not a singles artist at all, 30 million albums sold worldwide and 5 platinum albums in a row proves that

the only one of those that could be considered is gaga, madonna had the largest second week drop of all time with mdna, teenage dream wasn't as big worldwide as it was in the US, and britney can't even sell 800k in the US anymore so

please try to make sense next time!

I'm really loving Stay
jinnycalderone 20th-Nov-2012 10:49 pm (UTC)
well, i love diamonds ofc, but w/the recent shit she pulled w/the reporters for the 777 thing, id say she kinda doesnt deserve it atm lbh. but props anyways.
yungrapunxel 20th-Nov-2012 10:49 pm (UTC)
she doesnt deserve it? did that make sense in your head?
vanishingbee 20th-Nov-2012 10:51 pm (UTC)
karmicly undeserving lbr
baboona 20th-Nov-2012 10:52 pm (UTC)

read ha
jinnycalderone 20th-Nov-2012 10:52 pm (UTC)
maybe thats the wrong wording. im tired as fuck rn. i just got home from work. but im trying to say, since the bs w/her blowing off the reporters like that, and how her album sucks to me, i just feel like she doesnt deserve it, even tho she earned it fair & square. man, like w/e. pass me by pls.

lmao ikr
bitchboobye 20th-Nov-2012 10:52 pm (UTC)
shut the fuck up
mrcelebrity 20th-Nov-2012 11:01 pm (UTC)
Gaga didn't deserve that number one album by busting a cheap move and selling her cd at .99 cents. Let's see your queen try touring for a week straight in different countries! Im sure she could not keep up
meepstah 21st-Nov-2012 04:15 am (UTC)
you're so embarrassing
madonna 20th-Nov-2012 10:50 pm (UTC)
I don't know how people don't like Diamonds but like garbage like S&M??
vanishingbee 20th-Nov-2012 10:51 pm (UTC)
I like them the same. Which is to say, not very much.
madonna 20th-Nov-2012 10:53 pm (UTC)
S&M is okay but Diamonds is so good to me
yungrapunxel 20th-Nov-2012 10:52 pm (UTC)
the public has spoken diamonds is going to be #1 this week so idk what youre talking about tbh!
baboona 20th-Nov-2012 10:53 pm (UTC)
Diamonds > S&M
jinnycalderone 20th-Nov-2012 10:56 pm (UTC)
i love both tracks tbh!!
akasha6915 20th-Nov-2012 11:10 pm (UTC)
IDK, Diamonds doesn't sound like her and comes off as odd, like it does not work for her. Diamonds drowns out on the radio to me, and S&M is a lot catchier, it stood out a bit more on the radio.
sexyvegeta 20th-Nov-2012 11:46 pm (UTC)
s&m is a catchier beat /shrug
eightball 20th-Nov-2012 10:55 pm (UTC)
this weeks HDD post pls
swissbeauty23 20th-Nov-2012 10:59 pm (UTC)
the new album isn't bad but ia with the Washington Post's music review tbh...it's more zombie-like, less fun, less catchy and a bit bland compared to her others

though there are some great tracks like Jump and Pour It Up
zipster 20th-Nov-2012 10:59 pm (UTC)
this is honestly my least favorite album of hers
baboona 20th-Nov-2012 11:00 pm (UTC)
RCA Idol album Kelly Clarkson’s greatest hits compilation looks good for 45-50k. RCA Latin star Pitbull’s Global Warning should do 35-40k

RCAncient is such a horrendous label, ffs
madhubala 20th-Nov-2012 11:14 pm (UTC)
lol, such fail.
tucker 21st-Nov-2012 01:00 am (UTC)
I was hoping Kelly would have broken 100,000 at least :/
janeeyre 20th-Nov-2012 11:01 pm (UTC)
I'm not feeling this album.
onyxobsidian 20th-Nov-2012 11:06 pm (UTC)
Weird. This album is a snoozefest.
fabouluz 20th-Nov-2012 11:08 pm (UTC)
