Nic Cage Acting His Way Out of Tax Debt!

Nicolas Cage continues to chip away at his massive tax debt ... one sequel / three-quel at a time ... 'cause the actor paid off another tax lien, to the tune of $600k!!!

TMZ broke the story ... Cage was hit with a federal tax lien back in 2011 ... for $624,934.64. Seems he forgot to pay taxes on some really expenses gifts he gave out between 2004-2009.

According to the IRS all that's behind him now ... Cage is now paid in full, making him a super-duper-tax-lien-payer-offer ... considering last April he paid off another lien for $6 million. But Nick isn't out of the woods ... he still owes roughly $6 mil to Uncle Sam, but every little bit helps.

Apparently those new (old) roles  ... i.e. "Kick-Ass 2", "Ghost Rider 2", "National Treasure 3" and now "Ghost Rider 3" are really paying off.

We're kidding ... "Ghost Rider 3" isn't real. Yet.

I have three. Moonstruck (because it's perfect), Peggy Sue Got Married (idc what anyone says, it's also perfect) and Drive Angry (because it's too ridiculous for me not to love it).

Con Air, The Rock, Moonstruck and Raising Arizona.

You know what? I'm kind of a Cage fan. I haven't kept up with his most recent movies, but most of the time I have fun with his movies.

Yes, thank you for the Peggy Sue Got Married shout out! That was a favorite in our house growing up. The only shitty part is Sofia Coppola's painful painful acting, but it's so bad that it actually adds to the perfection of the movie with its hilarity.

Face/Off or It Could Happen To You. The latter is cheesy but I love it anyway.

Edit: The Rock & Con-Air, I enjoy also. And by default, National Treasure because I love Justin Bartha, and just so happens to have Nic Cage too.

So the reason he's been having literally 3 movies a year... props for paying off the government for shit you should've paid years ago.

I know it's stupid, but I have a real soft spot for National Treasure. I was eleven when it came out and I just thought Justin Bartha was so cute as Nic Cage's sidekick.
ionizable 20th-Nov-2012 09:45 pm (UTC)
same on all counts. also i thought diane kruger was charming as hell.
imnotasquirrel 20th-Nov-2012 09:46 pm (UTC)
national treasure is flawfree (not really, but let's pretend it is)

"it's the mean declaration lady!"
frolickings 20th-Nov-2012 10:04 pm (UTC)
i LOVE that movie. it's one of those things where if it's on tv, i'll stop whatever else i'm watching. it's just so crazy and he's so crazy and everything is just so farfetched but it's amazing lol.
nocturnedaeva 20th-Nov-2012 10:42 pm (UTC)
I enjoy the National treasure movies a lot, love to watch them every time they're on TV. I didn't know there were gonna be 3 and 4 and now I'm excited.
