Getting ready to go to work. Am literally and figuratively drowning in perfume/cologne rn.

And I'm working midnight Black Friday.
executivehpfan 20th-Nov-2012 06:24 pm (UTC)
Oh hey me too! -_-
brenden 20th-Nov-2012 06:37 pm (UTC)
i never wear cologne
just_enough 20th-Nov-2012 10:17 pm (UTC)
I'll be working at midnight too bb. Fucking Union Square in SF.
isntdaveone 20th-Nov-2012 06:21 pm (UTC)
i can't wait for Black Friday!!

ultrasushi 20th-Nov-2012 06:23 pm (UTC)
how can people willingly submit themselves to this. i just don't get it. even for the best savings in the world, i'd say no. fuck that.
deceitful 20th-Nov-2012 06:34 pm (UTC)
It's probably the same rush as running with bulls even with injuries and all only you MAY buy goods for half price at the end.
poopanna 20th-Nov-2012 06:35 pm (UTC)
Same.
aka_plynn 20th-Nov-2012 06:40 pm (UTC)
Yeah. Fuck that noise, especially since online shopping has started offering the same deals with a greatly reduced chance of injury/death.
wingslapped 20th-Nov-2012 06:48 pm (UTC)
IA. I've gone out to store without huge crowds, but I go online for the big stores like Best Buy.
actxappalledx 20th-Nov-2012 07:00 pm (UTC)
IA. I went ONCE to the mall during Black friday and it was like 3 in the afternoon and it was still a madhouse. Never again
executivehpfan 20th-Nov-2012 06:24 pm (UTC)
I have to work at midnight in a motherfucking mall on Black Friday.

Yeah, can't wait.
mynamehere07 20th-Nov-2012 06:24 pm (UTC)
People are fucking nuts on Black Friday. The worst part is most of the stuff that's on sale is not even that good.
mutterby 20th-Nov-2012 06:24 pm (UTC)
you have to be an actual idiot to subject yourself to this.
natalitabonita 20th-Nov-2012 06:27 pm (UTC)
OMG ! and people seem to enjoy it! LOL
beaddddddsss 20th-Nov-2012 06:29 pm (UTC)
Why do this when the same deals are online? Why?
rainbow_fish 20th-Nov-2012 06:30 pm (UTC)
The one black friday I worked at a mall was nothing like this, tbh.

Of course, that was the Christmas of 2008 and the country was basically wondering wtf happened to all of our collective money, sooo
sandstorm 20th-Nov-2012 06:31 pm (UTC)
I just await the news stories. I hope there aren't any deaths this year.
riookierin 20th-Nov-2012 06:36 pm (UTC)
I've actually NEVER been shopping on Black Friday, or even the whole weekend following Thanksgiving. Lol I'm always too busy stuffing my face with leftovers to gaf.

Cyber Monday is where it's at.
magicpebble 20th-Nov-2012 06:38 pm (UTC)
I never bother with actual Black Friday sales, but heading to the mall mid Friday morning and people watching is glorious.
judgmental 20th-Nov-2012 06:40 pm (UTC)
Urban Outfitters?

I thought hipsters were so above Black Friday.
thesilverymoon 20th-Nov-2012 06:41 pm (UTC)
I'm braving it for the first time this year. I'm kind of terrified, tbh.
homicidalslayer 20th-Nov-2012 06:46 pm (UTC)
UGH why did I agree to work Black Friday?

Oh, that's right, I wasn't given a choice.

Fucking Macy's, man.
wingslapped 20th-Nov-2012 06:47 pm (UTC)
My friend is missing Thanksgiving to work at Wal-Mart. It will be her baby's first Thanksgiving. She said that at least the baby's too young to remember it.
innocentanalyst 20th-Nov-2012 06:54 pm (UTC)
I can't wait for Black Friday. I'm upgrading to a DSLR for my blog and Best Buy has a Nikon for $449 or $499 for the body, the regular lens, a zoom lens and I think a case.
oblivious_frog 20th-Nov-2012 06:55 pm (UTC)
WHy the fuck would anyone rush into an Urban Outfitters?
theblackwidow 20th-Nov-2012 06:58 pm (UTC)
I went to the crappier of the two Targets in my town last year and it was actually really fun. Saw a bunch of my old high school acquaintances in line.
sviibwhapp 20th-Nov-2012 06:59 pm (UTC)
I love that calm old lady with the shopping cart in the second video.
marley_love 20th-Nov-2012 07:15 pm (UTC)
jesus fucking christ, just watching this gives me the biggest anxiety
foryoursake08 20th-Nov-2012 07:19 pm (UTC)
ugh, my friend and I are going to Louisville for a concert on Black Friday. I hope we can avoid all of this drama.
swissbeauty23 20th-Nov-2012 07:46 pm (UTC)
People are going crazy over the most boring every day shit...
mauichic 20th-Nov-2012 07:47 pm (UTC)

no_x_doubts 20th-Nov-2012 08:23 pm (UTC)

williammiller 20th-Nov-2012 09:26 pm (UTC)
I went shopping during black friday once and never again will I do it.
reidacted 20th-Nov-2012 06:21 pm (UTC)

His attorney provided that photo? His attorney must be trolling.
the_landlady 20th-Nov-2012 06:21 pm (UTC)
I am dreading Thanksgiving this year. I'm flying up to South Carolina to visit my father's uber-conservative relatives and they are so butthurt over Obama winning. 2008 left me in tears.
kalikat003 20th-Nov-2012 06:26 pm (UTC)
Just walk away when you can or try not to let them bait you and you will be fine
anolinde 20th-Nov-2012 06:31 pm (UTC)
Is there any way you can ask them not to talk about politics?

Either that, or sit there with a smug smile on your face the entire time. =D
aka_plynn 20th-Nov-2012 06:50 pm (UTC)
haha, this was going to be my advice, too. I would have "U MAD?" on my face the entire fucking time.
thesilverymoon 20th-Nov-2012 06:46 pm (UTC)
Do what I would do and push their buttons as much as you can. Tell them you were going to invite your unemployed, welfare-receiving, same-sex, hispanic, immigrant lover to dinner but they were too busy turning orphans gay to attend. Might as well have some fun with it.
homicidalslayer 20th-Nov-2012 06:49 pm (UTC)
Wear an "Obama/Biden" pin and bring along tofu/some other food from a culture that will horrify them
mhfromnh 20th-Nov-2012 07:08 pm (UTC)
wear sunglasses and tell them to deal with it.
williammiller 20th-Nov-2012 10:38 pm (UTC)
My sister's husband and his dad and hardcore Republicans, so it's always nice when we get together around the dinner table hear how evil Obama is and how liberals are anti-American and ruining the country.
thishollywood 20th-Nov-2012 06:21 pm (UTC)
what is the best thanksgiving u ever had?

alternatively, what is the worst?
henshins 20th-Nov-2012 06:26 pm (UTC)
Best Thanksgiving was two years ago when I really bonded with two of my older cousins. Worst was when I had to spend it at my parents' friend's house.
beetlebums 20th-Nov-2012 06:34 pm (UTC)
Best and worst all rolled up into one thing

My being in the 2001 Macy's Day Parade in the band before Santa
brenden 20th-Nov-2012 06:38 pm (UTC)
best: when my mom was like - FUCK THIS and it was just me and her having thanksgiving at disneyland

worst: there was one year i was just ... sick. like i dont even know, couldn't eat, couldn't stand, just sat in my grandpa's chair and passed out while everyone else ate lmfao
actxappalledx 20th-Nov-2012 07:02 pm (UTC)
Thanksgiving at Disneyland sounds awesome
magicpebble 20th-Nov-2012 06:43 pm (UTC)
Best was last year when my sister and I drank all morning so we were nicely buzzed by the time all our extended family showed up at my parents' house.

Worst was the year I had chicken pox.
thesilverymoon 20th-Nov-2012 06:52 pm (UTC)
Best: when I lived in London my friends and I had a massive Thanksgiving. I love having it with people who have never experienced it before, and we had something like 7 countries and three continents represented at this dinner. Plus, we all got absolutely smashed and there was no talking about politics or anything like that. It was glorious.

Worst: My entire family got together (this is never a good thing) and somehow immigration came up. EVERYONE except my brother, mom, and I just went IN on black people and hispanics. I won't say exactly what the statements were, but they all started with "I'm not racist, but..." I always knew my family was full of racist jackasses, but that meal was a whole new level. Plus, still-in-recovery meth addict cousin was at that dinner and when you have a family of people who just don't understand addiction, it's not pretty.
windsong_moon 20th-Nov-2012 06:52 pm (UTC)
Last year was the worst. It was at my aunt and uncle's house, and he invited some lady who wasn't related to our family nor knew anyone but him. He, of course, dropped her off and then went golfing with his friend. She turned out to be an alcoholic 84 year old who spent her time hitting on my bachelor uncles (both in their 40s). It was really, really uncomfortable. She nearly started a fire by shoving random shit in the oven and then threatened my (5 year old, autistic) cousin by saying she was going to steal her kitten. W T F.
sviibwhapp 20th-Nov-2012 06:55 pm (UTC)
Best I'm not sure.
Worst in the 90's my family went to this hotel restaurant for Thanksgiving meal and the food was terrible.
chandyland11 20th-Nov-2012 06:56 pm (UTC)
Best was last year when I was the only American living in my flat in England and I singlehandedly cooked a huge Thanksgiving dinner that people from the entire building ended up coming to. It was awesome. I literally pulled an allnighter cooking the turkey.
burn_a_miracle 20th-Nov-2012 07:13 pm (UTC)
Best will probably be this year, since I get to see my family.

Last year I didn't get to see my family cause I was too pregnant to travel and I had to miss Christmas as well :(
marley_love 20th-Nov-2012 07:25 pm (UTC)
i don't know about best but my absolute worst year was when there wasn't enough room at the table so my grandma put me in the kitchen by myself to eat.
harleenfrances 20th-Nov-2012 08:43 pm (UTC)
last year sucked. my aunt was on this weird mission to separate our whole damn family so she convinced my grandparents to eat with her and her husband's family (whom she hates) and ignore my dad and my uncle (nana's two eldest sons from her first marriage). i don't even think my aunt or nana even called my dad that day. i have p. much hated her ever since.
williammiller 20th-Nov-2012 10:37 pm (UTC)
I think all my Thanksgivings have been pretty good. I can't remember a bad one.
ladyjj 20th-Nov-2012 06:22 pm (UTC)
Better than that poor bb elephant :(
zparklemotion 20th-Nov-2012 06:22 pm (UTC)

natalitabonita 20th-Nov-2012 06:23 pm (UTC)
worst gif ever!
rainbow_fish 20th-Nov-2012 06:23 pm (UTC)
We had a really bad storm yesterday and now my building's dumpster has like toppled over into a neighbors yard. And my neighbor was like "Will you help me later to pick it up"

And I was like "ummmm yeahhh.... sure!"

Ugh fuck everything. I am not here for picking up a dumpster.
gravity1318 20th-Nov-2012 07:21 pm (UTC)
Use a shovel or a rake bb
rainbow_fish 20th-Nov-2012 07:37 pm (UTC)
Lmao, I don't think that is going to work in picking up a huge ass dumpster.
executivehpfan 20th-Nov-2012 06:23 pm (UTC)
This has made me feel like a sub par human being.
shangman 20th-Nov-2012 06:25 pm (UTC)

riookierin 20th-Nov-2012 06:29 pm (UTC)
Years of awful extensions + drugs + too much alcohol = thinning hair/receding hairline. :/
thishollywood 20th-Nov-2012 07:11 pm (UTC)

leopard_legs 20th-Nov-2012 07:12 pm (UTC)

henshins 20th-Nov-2012 06:23 pm (UTC)
I'm sad I don't have enough money to go shopping on Black Friday. I have enough for a new coat and gifts but that's about it.
zparklemotion 20th-Nov-2012 06:23 pm (UTC)
I tasted pumpkin pie for the first time a couple of days ago and o.m.g.
It was so deliciousssss...! I had no idea.
executivehpfan 20th-Nov-2012 06:25 pm (UTC)
The devil is a liar. Pumpkin pie is one of the many tools of Satan.
zparklemotion 20th-Nov-2012 06:26 pm (UTC)
I'd dance straight into hell if it meant more pumpkin pie tbh
riookierin 20th-Nov-2012 06:29 pm (UTC)
Lmao I pictured my Christian mother saying this.
lolbye 20th-Nov-2012 06:27 pm (UTC)
Ifkr, I just had it for the first time last month and my life in now complete. I still like pumpkin bread more, the texture is nicer.
devetu 20th-Nov-2012 06:34 pm (UTC)

im_chris_hansen 20th-Nov-2012 06:43 pm (UTC)

kaydes Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:23 pm (UTC)
What are the chances of my part time retail job drug testing?
brenden Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:25 pm (UTC)
50/50? they either will ... or they wont
chandyland11 Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:59 pm (UTC)
lol
snuffyqui45 Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:25 pm (UTC)
not likely but they will ask you if you'd have a problem w/ it.
lolbye Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:26 pm (UTC)
My part time grocery store job recently did random drug testing. First time in six years.
mynamehere07 Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:26 pm (UTC)
Depends on the store. I think the larger chains have mandatory testing before giving a job offer.
rainbow_fish Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:26 pm (UTC)
The only job I've ever been drug tested for was my current grown up job. Up until this job, however, I worked retail and was never asked to take a drug test.
kalikat003 Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:27 pm (UTC)
Pretty low imo. Unless you are dealing with high end merch, you should be fairly safe (it is a guess though)
henshins Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:28 pm (UTC)
I think it depends on the type of store. When I worked at Express they never drug tested me, but when I worked at a grocery store I got tested the day of the interview.
lolbye Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:28 pm (UTC)
Oh, and they tested me when I was first hired.
anus Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:28 pm (UTC)
If it's a big company, then you can probably find the answer through google. It's pretty hit or miss though.
xeroxicide__ 20th-Nov-2012 06:34 pm (UTC)
It should be in the job packet they give you. If its a cheap or company having fiscal problems they won't test. If it's corporate and lame I.e they make you wear uniform then they will drug test.
expromqueen Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:37 pm (UTC)
in my experience, they won't require one for employment, but they will make you sign a paper saying you understand you may asked to be take one (i.e. if you have an accident on the job, or your work performance makes them think you need one)
homicidalslayer Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
You're best off waiting until one week after you actually are drug tested before ~indulging.
wingslapped Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
You might google does store name drug test to see if anyone's asked and received an answer on it.
harleenfrances Re: Serious Question.20th-Nov-2012 08:47 pm (UTC)
the only reason i could see retail places testing is if they have suspicions about ppl.
