A Sydney musician creates the best PSA ever

A safety campaign for Melbourne Metro trains has gone viral online, gathering more than six million views in the last three days.

The Dumb Ways To Die video and accompanying song, composed by Sydney musician and keyboardist for The Cat Empire Ollie McGill uses mildly sardonic humour to convey the dangers of acting stupidly around trains.

Ollie McGill told Richard Glover that he had no idea that the campaign would become so popular.

“I thought it was just something I’d do and then just never hear of again,” he said.

“I think I first saw it when it had about 7,000 views and I’ve just been monitoring it since then, and suddenly it had 60,000 views, then it had over 100,000,” he said.

At time of publishing the video had 6,025,297 9,000,000+ views.

lol it's so cute. And yes, the song is even on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dumb-ways-to-die-single/id575962249

This was my first one, and of course, while pregnant is a great time for it! You can't lie flat on your back while pregnant, so I had to lie with my body on its side, but head straight the whole time. Plus the lack of pain meds leading up to it. Thankfully, I had no pain after. I was worried the y might need to pull it and I wouldn't be able to use the laughing gas or anything stronger than over the counter Tylenol!

Yeah, I think they're hyped up to be more painful than they typically are tbh. I did have pain meds, but they actually wore off really quickly (I've built up an immunity to them, I think) but it still didn't hurt that much. Or maybe you and I are just lucky, haha.

Oh, I found the root canal very unpleasant, and it did shirt a bit during, but no significant pain after. Before the root canal, however, was incredible pain, and they have to let antibiotics run their course first. I got the pain during a long weekend, so 3 days of pain then antibiotics which dulled it but still there then the root canal, all on just tylenol. Really not fun.

Oh gosh, that sounds awful. D: At least they hopefully did their job right the first time, so you won't have trouble with that tooth anymore? :(
