She sounds better vocally each era, people are just stuck on the "omg she can't sing at all" bandwagon and flat-out refuse to admit when she sounds good...but then praise Ke$ha's live vocals...I can't.

iawtc, i think that people are just [rightfully] spoiled by amazing live vocalists and as such, refuse to give her any credit despite improving considerably over the course of her career.

she's improved, but she started off sounding like crap when she first came out. It doesn't change the fact that she's still not where she should technically be 7 albums later as a vocalist/performer. It's fair for people to say she still sucks tbh

...ok. Janet's a performer and I love her for that. Rihanna's no vocalist or performer. If I go see Janet it's cause I know she can put on a show at least. Rih can't do that lbr.

i dont think shes any worse than katy perry, but no one seems to shit on katy as much as rihanna and idgi. although she is trying to make me look a fool with this slow spiral of garbage vocals in her seemingly exhausted state. i ain't sayin no one can hate, but i am a pragmatic asshole about it and want equal hate dammit.

but i do agree whole heartedly about jesus christ bitch, 7 albums get it together. i think the fact the longest gap between albums was 2 years for gggb to rated r really drives home the fact it's about staying in the public eye with disposable, albeit fun, music rather than vocal or lyrical substance.

idk, I think people shit on katy, and even Kesha equally from what I've seen. Katy's not promoting anything now so no one's saying anything, but I def remember when people used to go in on her terrible performances.

ia with your second point, I just wish she'd take the time to get better as a performer cause that show she just did was a mess.

Um, then she shouldn't be as famous as she is? I'm so sick of being told to accept mediocrity. If you're getting millions of bucks to be on stage and constantly shoving albums down the world's throat, then you better be phenomenal. I'm not going to golfclap a huge artist for doing slightly better when she should have been amazing to be where she is in the first place.
