These days, stars are heading to their local animal shelters to find their furry best friend. Katherine Heigl's Hounds of Hope saves dogs from kill shelters. Sandra Bullock adopted a two-legged dog and a three-legged dog.
In the latest episode of "Celebrity Pet Project," one of pet adoption's biggest supporters, Mariel Hemingway, explains to host Theo Von how her mixed-breed cuties have changed her life. The actress is also featured in the new book, A Letter To My Dog, an ode to man's best friend that includes letters from owners including Oprah Winfrey and Hilary Duff.
