I just feel like... if it was between two consenting adults, then there's nothing illegal and there's nothing he can get a settlement for. Unless the settlement was basically buying him out so that he wouldn't give interviews/tell everyone about the details of his relationship.
I guess legal or not, the show doesn't think having one of its star puppeteer's sex life exposed in further details in tabloids would be good for their image :/
