Nelly Furtado will traverse her home country of Canada on a tour that will last throughout most of next January to support her most recent album.

The tour will kick off on January 8 at the Save On Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, and is scheduled to continue through January 30 with a show at the St. Denis Theatre 1 in Montreal. In between, the pop singer also will visit Vancouver; Calgary, Alberta; Edmonton, Alberta; Ottawa; Toronto and Windsor, Ontario. Dylan Murray and Jessica Tyler will join the tour as special guests.

These dates will support Furtado’s album The Spirit Indestructible, which was released in September of this year. In a statement on her website announcing the tour, the singer explained that before making the record, she had considered retiring from pop music altogether.

I was seriously considering retiring from my career as a pop musician and pursuing other music-related and creative endeavors,” she said. “Slowly, but surely, I began to record again and eventually found a new freedom within my voice and an overwhelming since of excitement about making pop music.

“That is the excitement you hear on The Spirit Indestructible. Nostalgia is a huge theme. All my old memories suddenly became clear to me, and I found myself re-visiting my past in a fresh and colorful way.

“Overall, I would describe this album as raw and honest – a friendly punch in the face. These tracks combine hard beats with strong, dynamic, sometimes pretty vocals. It’s overall, quite a simple, at times juvenile album that was very liberating to create and gave me immense joy.”

The tour marks the first time Nelly Furtado has toured in Canada since 2007, and the first time she has toured at all since 2010. Her last English-language album was 2006’s Loose. She also released a Spanish-language album, Mi Plan in 2009.

I'm excited. Her label said she will be reaching my country spring next year. Yasss!!! Also, it's good to know she will ignore the fact that her album is a flop and will go on tour anyway. When will Christina.

gurrrl, she might not be a top charting artist but she is more interesting musically than most of the poptarts out there.

her image is confusing now
i liked her before loose.

I think Mi Plan took her to her pre Loose era image. I wouldn't call Mi Plan a sexy era lol The only time she actually changed was during Loose, cause the music was so different than what she usually does.

I don't really see THAT huge a difference between pre- and post-Loose tbh

only you think this.

how does it feel like to literally be her only fan?
her career is more dead than britney's personality
luckyluxk 19th-Nov-2012 03:14 am (UTC)
lol you are so dumb, I wasn't defending her career, which I know is dead. Learn to read, cunt. Now, there are a few Floptina Aguimierda's post over there, go and cry cause her career is as dead as Nelly's.
xena_mademegay 19th-Nov-2012 03:27 am (UTC)
you said she was more interesting, and nobody thinks that but u, literally her only fan here lmao

anyway, xtina is flopping but her career is not nearly as dead as nelly's yet.

lotus is considered a major flop but it's projected to debut around 70k

remind me how much spirit indestructible sold in the 12 weeks it was out
lol

lol you flop if you think that Xtincta's music is as interesting as Nelly's projects. Go and listen to your Max Martin shit or even better, the masterpiece and daring album that bionic was.
xena_mademegay 19th-Nov-2012 04:19 am (UTC)
