Winona Ryder teams up with Tim Burton for a music video for The Killers

Winona Ryder is teaming up with her Beetlejuice director Tim Burton for a video for the The Killers.

The revered moviemaker shot the video at the Tower Ballroom in the English seaside resort town of Blackpool on Thursday.

The video shoot comes just two days after the band was forced to cut short a concert in nearby Manchester after frontman Brandon Flowers lost his voice.

The group also scrapped a second Manchester show on Wednesday. Both concerts have been rescheduled for February.

Winona needs to be in more things. I still can't figure out how that shoplifting arrest made her unhireable for so many years.

it enrages me. there's people still working in big budget movies (not to mention musicians etc) that have done far worse. Well the vast majority of them is male, of course.

it makes me believe that rumor that says she was hell to work with it and the shoplifting was just an excuse to blacklist her for a while
mynamehere07 18th-Nov-2012 08:28 pm (UTC)
Oh really, I never heard she was hard to work with, but if that was the case, shoplifting or not, she would just stop getting offers.

Apparently she was a nightmare, but who knows -- it could just be misogynistic bullshit.
thelovehater 18th-Nov-2012 08:29 pm (UTC)
I would believe that but everyone who used to work with her seems to have only positive things to say about her / friendly vibes. Like, where are the receipts on her bad behavior ya know.

Besides, my flawless queen can do no wrong

i feel the same way. if she was julia roberts-level of hell on set then there would be stories by now.

idk it's so weird that her career suffered so much from that incident alone, but knowing how hollywood works it doesn't surprise me.

It's all rumor. It seems to me that she's been hired in minor parts for a lot of big stuff lately, so she can't really be that bad.

also the insuarence thing was a big problem back in then

I remember woody harrelson's interview in 2003 how he wanted rdj and winona for a movie as leads but he couldn't due to high insuarence.

Does RDJ still have a pretty high premium and specialized insurance policy? He's a huge money draw with Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man, but I'm sure some studios are still cautious hiring him in case he (knock on wood) has a relapse.

I always thought that shoplifting thing had to be an excuse, tbh. Even taking sexism into account, the response to that whole thing seemed way bigger than it should.

mte
It's a shame she got kicked to the curb for that one fuck up.

One public fuck-up is usually preceded by many private ones.

I honestly think it's just a fluke that the shop-lifting coincided with her entering the dreaded 30s. Women get most of their roles in their 20s, and then some Mom and Wife roles open up in their 40s, but it's a wasteland in-between.

That and she's always sky high on something. But, hey, if Britney's career can survive Winona's should be able to.
