Giving her gal pal support during trying times, Taylor Swift joined up with a newly single Selena Gomez or a weekend dinner on the town in Los Angeles on Saturday night (November 17).

The chart-topping country superstar, who has plenty of experience when it comes to fizzled out romances, helped cheer up the "Monte Carlo" actress as they chatted and chowed down on tasty Italian cuisine at Osteria La Buca.

Earlier in the day, Miss Gomez - who was wearing a black "You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Grey" top - stopped off at a local gas station in the midst of a few errands, during which time a following paparazzo pumped and paid for her petrol.

Funnily enough, the shutterbug just so happened to have recently had a court case dropped that stemmed from a chasing incident involving Selena's ex beau, Justin Bieber.

Meanwhile, Justin spent his day gearing up for a high profile performance during Sunday night's 40th American Music Awards.

Not letting his personal life woes get in the way of his lucrative profession, a source told E! News, "He [Justin\] was totally professional. He was focused on the choreography. There are a lot of dancers."
