Kody Brown Insists Any One Of His Sister Wives Is Free To Leave Polygamy Whenever They Want!!!

Kody has a message for his four wives – they are free to get a divorce and leave any time they want!

This isn’t a threat however; it is a heartfelt promise that he exclusively tells RadarOnline that he made to Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn Brown when they entered into a polygamist marriage with him.

“Any one of them could get a divorce and leave if they want to,” he insists.

“We are in this by choice,” Kody vows, and says that the upcoming season of their reality show will delve into how they’re helping others who are forced to live a polygamist lifestyle against their will.

“We chose to be in it and if someone wants out of it they should be given that choice too”.

“I don’t think people really have a choice to stay. There has always been a need for this society to allow this freedom," he says. "If you don’t want to be in you should be allowed to leave. And they make it so hard for them. They already own them financially there is so much extortion going on in that community.”

Sister Wives premieres on TLC Sunday, November 18 at 9/8c. The Brown family visited CeleBuzz and revealed new drama for the upcoming season.

sorry but don't they talk about having to pick up and leave a lot because bigamy is illegal so many places? i can't imagine that has a positive influence on the lives of those kids. furthermore half the reason for marriage nowadays is the legal rights it gives to children, and if those rights aren't being legally recognised for even a portion of these partnerships what is the point? i also think it teaches them shitty ideas about gender roles and there is probably discord from just having so many adults trying to fulfil different roles in the household. therefore, i think this does them a lot more harm than good.

They've only had to move once and that was because they went public with the show. Unless they moved again last season? All the parents involved appear to be very supportive of whatever their children want to do. No one seems expected to carry on this lifestyle if they don't want to. And a few of the older girls are very vocal about not thinking it is for them. I mean this works for them and their kids are well cared for. I don't see anything wrong with it.

The women are who run the family. Even Kody has admitted to that. None seem to be voiceless.

yes but kody has also admitted to there being a double standard when it comes to him and his wives - in particular that he thought the idea of sharing any of his wives with other men disgusting. women can domestically 'run' the household and still be devalued. and personally i think exposing their kids on this show is detrimental.

their children are incredibly outspoken and have very differing opinions from their father though. at least a few of them do.
