Hikaru Utada Breaks Hiatus To Release "Evangelion 3.0" Theme
"Sakura Nagashi" (Flowing Cherry Blossoms)

Lyrics (translated by Utada herself):
Watching flowers just blossomed fall
"Too early, this year" you said,
In disappointment, regret
And you were beautiful
If you could see me now
I wonder what you would think
Me, living without you
Everybody finds love
In the end
If you could hear the newborn's cry,
Sound and healthy
Ringing in the town you protected
I know you would be so pleased
The footsteps that continue after us
Everybody finds love
In the end
I can't believe that I'll never see you again
I haven't told you anything yet
I haven't told you anything yet
Watching flowers just blossomed fall
The trees stood by, helpless
However great the fear, I will not look away
If at the end of everything, there is love
The song was released to iTunes (Japan) and Recochoku today. "Sakura Nagashi" will have a physical release in the form of a DVD single out on December 26, 2012.

I think her quirkiness and intelligence with songwriting gets lost in translation
But I think maybe you are thinking more along the lines of her style. She tries an entirely different type of music market with CBTM and Exodus. I would agree that her Japanese releases may not click over here, but I would love to see her sit down and compose something in English exactly like she would in Japanese.
But yes, how she writes her music in English is different
