I just want to be 40 with kids and stay at home and take care of them and the house and do lots of sewing and gardening and be a 60s housewife instead of being a 20 year old student what is wrong with me. i'm a feminist and feel like i should want to do more with my life and i get that feminism is about choice and if i want to stay at home that's my prerogative but i still feel like i'm letting my gender down. I just really want the next 10 years to be over now :/
sandstorm 17th-Nov-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
You've got to live for yourself, not the rest of us.
blessedbell 17th-Nov-2012 01:06 am (UTC)
your life is your life, regardless of your gender. if staying at home is what makes your heart the happiest and leaves you with the most satisfaction, that's what you should do. It sounds like you're letting other people's perception affect your desires.
chuk_is_dazzled 17th-Nov-2012 01:06 am (UTC)
i want that rn. i keep saying i want to marry a rich guy so i can just stay home tidy the house and cook. i love cooking and i clean all the time anyway plus im tired of school and idk what career im gonna have with either just my bio bs or my masters of public health
foureyedgirl 17th-Nov-2012 04:37 am (UTC)
yes. same
foureyedgirl 17th-Nov-2012 04:36 am (UTC)
bb you shouldn't do anything other than make yourself happy and if it's be a housewife then so be it. feminism is about choice, whatever the choice is ♥
the_pinkdress 17th-Nov-2012 06:06 am (UTC)
i'm a feminist and what you described is what i want out of my life b/c i don't see myself finding fulfillment in a "job". i love thinking and academia and even working sometimes (internships i've done) but i've never been 'career oriented' and can't see myself wanting to commit long term to something. my mom was a stay at home mom when we were little and i want that flexibility, and i'm happier with things around home and family (not that i'm into martha stewart type shit). that said i think it's important to have SOME things outside the home, to give you an identity that isn't wrapped up in serving your family.

wtf sorry that's so long, i have a lot of feelings about this.

My bff is obsessed with Andy Cohen. I was thinking of cross stitching the word Mazel and framing it for her as a decoration.

Thoughts?
chocobeans 17th-Nov-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
That sounds like a great gift. I say go for it.
williammiller 17th-Nov-2012 01:13 am (UTC)
That would be really cute!
chuk_is_dazzled 17th-Nov-2012 01:03 am (UTC)
mmm im making sauteed brussels sprouts tomorrow
tristessa_77 17th-Nov-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
yummm love brussels sprouts! they're like candy when cooked right!
williammiller 17th-Nov-2012 01:13 am (UTC)
Make some for me, please.
josh_the_k 17th-Nov-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
Led Zeppelin's "Celebration Day" was amazing. People in the movie theater applauded after some songs.
merenwen17 match.com17th-Nov-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
anyone have any success on it? My friend gave me his paid account because he found someone, and so far...guys instantly start talking about sex and ask things like if I'm good in bed. on the first day.

I'm just like....seriously?
chuk_is_dazzled Re: match.com17th-Nov-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
damn, but im horny as hell and would probably get myself killed cause id take up their offers
sowhat_whocares Re: match.com17th-Nov-2012 01:10 am (UTC)
im scared of dating sites, specifically match.com...because the shooter from Aurora had an active account up until the day of the shooting. he was talking to a few girls that DAY I believe...

but then again, I have 2 friends who met through match and okcupid and one couple I know met on EHarmony and is married now. but...im just not comfortable.
laceandskin 17th-Nov-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
I just had 4 peanut butter cups, yet I'm still craving chocolate.
chocobeans 17th-Nov-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
Any natural ladies use grapeseed oil as a heat protectant when straighten their hair? I'm thinking of doing it this weekend. I've read that people use and have had lovely results. Saw NikkiMae on YouTube use it and recommend it also.

If not, would anyone recommend the Chi or Redken line? If I'm going to do this I want to take all the precaution necessary.
burn_a_miracle 17th-Nov-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
Chi has gone downhill for a while now. Go with Redkin or matrix. Paul Mitchell is great as well.
chocobeans 17th-Nov-2012 01:15 am (UTC)
Thanks! Would you recommend the Redken Smooth Lock Heat Glide Protective Smoother? I need to help my curls out a bit. They're so tight that they wrap around each other and make for nasty tangles. They've been doing that since I cut it all off and it started growing back.
nicenicegirl 17th-Nov-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
i need some good books to read ONTD. i'm into sci-fi/fantasy mostly. romance can be in it but i'd prefer it not be the focal point.
stellarlyssa 17th-Nov-2012 01:10 am (UTC)
I'm not as up on the latest sf/f (although I did read The Rook, by Daniel O'Malley, which came out this year and was pretty good), buuuut:

Kindred, Octavia Butler
Sunshine, Robin McKinley
American Gods, Neil Gaiman
His Dark Material trilogy, Philip Pullman
The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood

sowhat_whocares 17th-Nov-2012 01:11 am (UTC)

truexillusions 17th-Nov-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
I'm not even ashamed to admit this so COME AT ME BROS

But I just got back from Breaking Dawn Part 2 and I thought it was kind of awesome lol. I liked the twist and I liked how they did the credit type thing at the end.
twowaymirrrors 17th-Nov-2012 01:08 am (UTC)
What was the twist?
williammiller 17th-Nov-2012 01:16 am (UTC)
What was the ~shocking ending?
truexillusions 17th-Nov-2012 01:17 am (UTC)
The ~shocking thing wasn't the ending.

I'm too lazy to look up how to do a spoiler.
xoxmissvixenxox 17th-Nov-2012 06:33 am (UTC)
Really? I absolutely hated it and I enjoyed the other films (mostly new moon and breaking dawn pt 1). I think the RIDICULOUS cgi is what killed it for me
judgmental 17th-Nov-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
I'm inviting this bitch to hang out and she doesn't want to do ANYTHING, she says no to every suggestion and everytime I tell her to say something she's like "nah you choose" and says no again

wtf bitch
chocobeans 17th-Nov-2012 01:06 am (UTC)
You could always ask, "Yo, wtf bitch?" But you know, more tactfully.
nicenicegirl 17th-Nov-2012 01:08 am (UTC)
i have a friend who constantly makes plans with me "oh yeah that sounds great i'm totally down for that!" and then never shows up. happens every time. she won't show up, she won't answer my calls, and then a week later she'll text me like nothing happened about something random.
twowaymirrrors 17th-Nov-2012 01:09 am (UTC)
You should just ask her wtf she wants to do since she hates your ideas so much. But nicer.
righthon 17th-Nov-2012 02:35 am (UTC)
Say 'I'm going to (whatever) come with if you want'

nobodynomore Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
I tend to not get along with people who think cunt is such a dirty, awful, unspeakable word. Truth.
iruleuruniverse Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:09 am (UTC)
i will sometimes use that word jokingly with my FRIENDS.
but this chick does not know me from adam, and clearly didnt use it like "bitch" or whatever. she went for the throat here.
blessedbell Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
LO FUCKING L.

All reps seem to be doing this. They have no ammo so they go for the proverbial jugular.
blessedbell Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
btw: you slay like a boss.
angelmonster Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:08 am (UTC)
Srs business make sure no typos when arguing with an idiot. Drag their ass!
tragickingdomxo Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:08 am (UTC)
LOL what a toolbag, OMG I can't handle that I'm probably just as stupid, if not more so, than the people I was trying to mock
ronnie_luvs_u Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:10 am (UTC)
she's an idiot and desperate. people always pull out the swear words when they don't have anything else to say.
evett Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:14 am (UTC)
anyone who accuses the other person of being a bully during a discussion automatically loses.
tigtogiba34 Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:15 am (UTC)
I would never call someone I didn't actually know the "c" word. I only reserve that for those I know well enough to actually deserve to be called it Ha!
vivisexion Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 01:37 am (UTC)
dude! that person needs to simmer the fuck down!
foureyedgirl Re: SO......17th-Nov-2012 04:39 am (UTC)
