Missouri Man Accused of Plotting Breaking Dawn Movie Theater Shooting

bilde-400x300

A Missouri man named Blaec Lammers is accused of planning a mass shooting at a screening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 this weekend.

Fortunately, authorities stopped him in time.

The 20-year-old was apprehended in Bolivar and charged with first-degree assault, making a terroristic threat and armed criminal action after his alarmed mother contacted police on Thursday.

Lammers allegedly bought assault rifles and more than 400 rounds of ammunition in a plot apparently meant to copycat last July’s massacre at a showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado.

I can't believe this is a thing now.

I can't imagine what his mother must be going through right now, holy shit.
And he bought assault rifleS? Was he working alone or...?
disko_tron 16th-Nov-2012 10:03 pm (UTC)
He's a sick bastard. I'm glad his mother reported him and he's now apprehended. It's scary how there's no way of knowing how someone can be messed up like that
vonlisbon 16th-Nov-2012 10:05 pm (UTC)
o fuq I thought your icon was that person throwing a turtle. It took me a minute to consider that she might be lying on the floor.

omg I'm sorry this is kind of csb/fluffy for the seriousness of this post, but the city name reminded me of an awesome conversation I overheard the other day -

A: Yeah, I'm really into like Latin American studies. Like politics and revolutions and stuff.
B: (indicates he's from Colombia)
A: Oh yeah?? Have you heard of Sye-men Ball-iv-er??
B: Who? No, I don't think so.
A: Duuuude Sye-men Ball-iv-er! He totally doesn't get enough credit. He totally like started a revolution and shit in Colombia.

I died 10,000 times.
revelried 16th-Nov-2012 10:14 pm (UTC)
oh god, dying

I had a Spanish prof who would hunt me down if she heard I pronounced Simon Bolivar wrong
foryoursake08 16th-Nov-2012 10:23 pm (UTC)

littlelauren86 21st-Nov-2012 07:09 am (UTC)
lol. He doesn't get enough credit? I'm pretty sure that every city/town in that country has a Simon Bolivar plaza + statues etc.
_scarlett_icons 16th-Nov-2012 10:04 pm (UTC)
Shit, that's fucked up. Thank goodness his mother did something. Some mothers wouldn't do anything.
orangeandblack 16th-Nov-2012 10:04 pm (UTC)
Thank God his mother took this shit seriously and called the authorities, that has to be terrifying and depressing to have to turn in your own son.

Crazy mother fuckers and their copy cat shit, that's what I fear most, I'm glad I'm too old and grouchy for midnight showings anymore, I'm still not even totally comfortable with theaters.
calinewarkwc69 16th-Nov-2012 10:04 pm (UTC)
This isn't a joking matter whatsoever, but, also, my first thought was "I would be SO FUCKING PISSED if I got shot at stupidass BD: P2"
mr_minogue 16th-Nov-2012 10:06 pm (UTC)
lmao
calinewarkwc69 16th-Nov-2012 10:07 pm (UTC)
Like, after the Batman one, I have barely gone to any movies at the theaters because I am so paranoid... this shit is my worst fear. I hate not feeling safe in public, ya know?
francesbcobain 16th-Nov-2012 10:06 pm (UTC)
lol
fauxparadiso 17th-Nov-2012 01:00 am (UTC)
Imagine getting shot up in a Paul Blart: Mall Cop screening or something.
bathstone 16th-Nov-2012 10:04 pm (UTC)
Ugh, I'm so glad he was caught.
littlehayzay 16th-Nov-2012 10:04 pm (UTC)
I just realised that I don't think I've been to a movie since that happened.
jaimelannister 16th-Nov-2012 10:09 pm (UTC)
My mum didn't tell me about TDKR shooting until I got home from seeing the film (British here). I was about to say I don't think I've been either but I just realised I went to see Anna Karenina. Sorry for the life story.
sandstorm 16th-Nov-2012 10:20 pm (UTC)
I've gone five times, but not to an actual live action movie (which seems to be a favorite of these shooters) until last week.
saltireflower 16th-Nov-2012 10:30 pm (UTC)
Oh God, I just had a dreadful thought. What if one of these wackjobs does this at an animated movie full of kids?
arrowtoes 16th-Nov-2012 11:03 pm (UTC)
I refused to let it get it to me but god did it, I went to DKR 3 or 4 times because I kept getting distracted and terrified, especially during the shooting scenes. The second viewing I was *convinced* the guy behind me had a duffel bag, then he leaves and I realized it was just his jacket. thankfully the last viewing I had the theater all to myself and I just said fuck it, at least I know my odds lol. :(
__angelofmusic 16th-Nov-2012 11:21 pm (UTC)
I hadn't been to one until this past weekend. It wasn't really a conscious decision and I didn't even realize it until we were already sitting in the theater. I felt okay though.
electricknight 17th-Nov-2012 01:33 am (UTC)
I hadn't been either. I went to a classic movie fest a couple months after but I was the only one in the theater so it really didn't matter.
threeatatimejay 17th-Nov-2012 01:52 am (UTC)
I went once and it was to see TDKR. And there was security EVERYWHERE.
