I'm mixed. There's some good songs, but I'm meh about it so far. I'm sure they'll grow on me, but I'm not nuts about 'em rn.

that would be a bland metaphor from anyone else, but I'm creeped out by her choosing to sing that. it's like she knows everyone knows her business, why not put it plainly...but then that album title, idek. You can't have it both ways, Ri.

Those last couple lines make me wonder so, why do her lyrics seem so personal to her individually, then, if she didn't write any of them? Does she pick songs to sing that she relates to? Or are these lyrics written with her in mind? Does she tell them what to write about?

at this point of her career, she can ask people to write for her and everybody knows what is going on in her life.
the same thing happened to britney, pharrel wrote a song for her which was incredibly fitting in her post divorce phase and they didn't even meet to talk about it.

I always wondered about that Britney song, that's so interesting, ty. I'm super curious now which songs were written for her (from Rated R, too) and which she picked out that already existed. I mean her singing it changes what it means but it would make it more listenable to me tbh.

i've only listened through it once, and i'm not loving it yet :/ maybe it'll grow on me.
i usually love her songs at first listen tho, but i haven't even liked diamonds.

the good news is, if you don't care for this album, we only have a few months to wait until the next one...haha
