30pm Children in Need Terry Wogan, Tess Daly, and Fearne Cotton present the marathon night of fun and fundraising, which begins with a performance by boy-band One Direction. 8:30pm Next comes an exclusive trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas special, which will give viewers their first look at the Doctor and his new companion. Then Aled Jones faces the daunting task of uniting thousands of children all over the UK to sing live in a mass nationwide choir. Plus Pudsey Bear will be dancing with his namesake – Pudsey the Dog from Britain’s Got Talent.

00pm Girls Aloud make their return to the stage with a live performance of the Children in Need single Something New.

BBC1

35pm Children in Need X Factor winners Little Mix kick off BBC1’s second round of Children in Need with a performance. Then the Top Gear lads will entertain the BBC’s newsreaders, who’ll be facing off against one another to find out who’s the fastest in a reasonably-priced car.

00pm Not Going Out Lee Mack stars in a Children In Need special of the BBC sitcom, and Leona Lewis sings live. Plus there’s a look at Children in Need fundraising parties taking place all over Britain.

30pm Misery Bear and Geri Halliwell reveal what happened to Pudsey’s eye.

midnight Nick Grimshaw takes over hosting duties, and both Paloma Faith and Tim Minchin will be singing live. To finish there’ll be a look back at the evening’s highlights before the grand total of the night’s charity spectacular is revealed.
