I'm watching my sister's pitbull this week and if one more person recoils/runs away/pulls their dog away from us when I walk him, I'm going to flip.

Look at that face. He's the sweetest dog ever!

AWWWWW PUPPY :-)
yeah, they get a bad rap esp on walks. people even jump out of the way when im walking my lab and he's like the epitome of goofy-friendly dog.

What a cutie! Pitties are the sweetest though! Lol omg some people. One lady saw my dog and told her kid to not pet her because she'll bite. Then another woman had her kid pick up her tiny teacup pup (who looked too young to be out anyways). Before they passed us the mom switched sides with her kid to shield her and the kid was like nooooo and picked up the pup and hid it.

Pitbulls scare me because these dumbass rednecks (they have the confederate flag in their yard and we live in Colorado) raise them to fight and one time one got out and started chasing me.
im_chris_hansen 16th-Nov-2012 06:25 pm (UTC)
i'd be more scared of confederate dudes

hearthecity 16th-Nov-2012 06:51 pm (UTC)
he's a cutie, but you can't blame people for pulling away. They don't know you or your dog and know if he's well trained or what.
the_landlady 16th-Nov-2012 06:57 pm (UTC)
I see where you're coming from, but it's the assumption that he's going to be super aggressive that bothers me. He is extremely obedient and it shows when I walk him and yet he is still judged just because of his breed.

I HATE when people do that. So fucking dumb. Any dog can be vicious. Only difference is pits are usually strong as fuck, but it doesn't mean they'll attack because of that.
tucker 16th-Nov-2012 07:31 pm (UTC)
I've met so many sweet pit bulls, but it's hard to get over your prejudices towards the breed after you saw one lock onto your dog from the other side of the park, get away from it's owner, run over and just start ripping and tearing into your dog's side.

this is really late, but i have a small dog who is overly excited/anxious around other dogs and protective when on her leash. i have to pull her away from every dog we pass bc i never know what she's going to do, and i don't want to provoke unfamiliar dogs. sometimes it's not personal ;)
