American Horror Story is getting a third season.
The FX horror anthology shock-fest will return for 13 more episodes next fall from executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
“With American Horror Story: Asylum, Ryan and Brad have raised the bar in every way from Murder House, the first American Horror Story miniseries,” said FX president and general manager John Landgraf. “And their original idea—the notion of doing an anthological series of miniseries with a repertory cast—has proven groundbreaking, wildly successful and will prove to be trendsetting. We can’t wait to see what deviously brilliant ideas they come up with for their third miniseries.”

Even better, Jessica Lange — who played Southern mama Constance in Season 1 and is Asylum‘s Sister Jude — will return in the show’s next incarnation.
Asylum ends its run on Jan. 23; the new season will begin production this summer and bow in Fall 2013.
No word yet on who Lange will play or where the series, which switches location and era each season, will take place.
Evan will probably be back too, most likely because of the Tate fangirls.
I miss Alexandra sfm too.

Season 1 was a trainwreck that was only interesting because it felt like you were on an acid trip where nothing made sense. But Season 2 is what they were aiming for - an interesting, gripping horror film in TV series / mini-series form.
The whole concept, the setting, the characters, the overall connecting plot.

Season 1 is a mess filled with BS family/Violate drama. It's so fucking annoying seeing them moping and pouting when all I want to see is some horrific stories.
This season delivers on all fronts.
And I miss Connie Britton too, but at least I get to see her on Nashville!
