Aurora Massacre Shooter Tries to Kill Himself



James Holmes -- the shooter in the Aurora movie theater massacre -- was hospitalized after several "half-hearted" suicide attempts ... this according to law enforcement.

According to cops, Holmes ran headfirst into a jail cell wall on Tuesday ... and while he sustained injuries ... they were not life-threatening.

Holmes also reportedly stood on the bed in his cell and fell backwards ... in an apparent attempt to crack his skull open. He failed.

Holmes -- who killed 12 people and injured 58 more during his July 20 shooting rampage -- has since been released from the hospital.

I think you're thinking of the Jared Loughner, the guy responsible for the Gabby Giffords (and others) shooting. There's no way they could process this guy's case that quickly.

Oh yeah - you're right.
I only remembered because they were mad that guy didn't get a symbolic sentencing ( ie: seven life sentences or 700+ yrs in jail. )

Although, I'd bet the guy this article refers to will get a symbolic sentencing of at least 1,000+ yrs.

Yeah, he just got sentenced last week so I figured that's what everyone was thinking of. They both are total creeps in photos though I think the Loughner guy takes the cake, despite this asshole's attempt.

I don't think anyone will ever be more disturbing in photographs than Dahmer - stuff of nightmares right there.

dahmer always looked really normal to me, especially in video. he was very casual, which is creepy of course, but he didn't have a crazed look.

No, they haven't even had the first official court date yet. It's all been hearings deciding what to do with pieces of evidence.
