As soon as Dr. Oliver said "I never was here" I knew he was the butcher. Plus RM said there was a really horrible scene between him and Lana so that just clicked. Or maybe he was talking about next week since they're still interacting.
I wish the alien stuff wasn't included at all. It just doesn't fit with the rest of what's going on.
I'm choosing to believe that while Sister Mary Eunice and Dr. Arden are forces of evil at work, the aliens might be the contrasting, benevolent force. Satan from below, aliens from above. *shrug*
Poor, poor Lana :( I was not expecting that Jeffrey Dahmer/Ed Geen shit. This show is getting a little too sadistic for my tastes lol but it still keeps dragging me back in
I can't watch anymore, I want to but when a show gives a lobotomy to Anne Frank it's like a huge fuck you to the sensibilities of any sane viewer or something like that.
Certain people are off limits and she is one of them imo.
I got the feeling it was left up on the air because at the end they zoom in on the pic of psycho doctor/farmer from Babe and he's standing behind Hitler.
She wasn't Anne Frank, though. She was suffering from postpartum psychosis and just thought she was Anne after they went to the theater to see the show.
This was my line of thought last season when they added Elizabeth Short to the mix. That was pretty tasteless.
However, in this case, she's not supposed to be Anne Frank. Like everyone's saying, it was pretty much confirmed that she's mentally ill, and just stumbled upon the pic of him during her obsessive research.
I'm thinking that she is Anne Frank. Idk, those sequences looked like home videos and there's no reason for them to be. I think she was brainwashed and her husband is part of some secret service that the guy that Sister Mary Jude went to see mentioned.
I guess I missed some stuff while I was in the kitchen so I didn't know about this photo business with Anne Frank and I thought the flashbacks were some of those weird memories like in last season where we never knew what the true story was with Larry and I was really upset about it. IDK I guess I'm still upset about it :(
OMFG IDK HOW I FEEL ABOUT WHO BLOODY FACE IS. IM LIKE TORN BECAUSE I EXPECTED OLIVER TO BE THE SAVIOR WHO WOULD EXPOSE THE HORRORS AT THE HOSPITAL BUT NOW HE'S A CREEPY KILLER.
I figured it was going to be Quinto. Thredson was too nice, so I just had this feeling he was going to end up being some kind of fucked up Hannibal Lecter/Buffalo Bill mash-up. I'm kinda bummed I was right, though. I'm not here for this torture porn shit.
Ugh, I love Quinto and I'm sure he'll take on this transition from the "nice doctor" to crazed killer, but still. I feel cheated now lol, I seriously thought he cared about Lana and wanted to help her get the story out about the hospital and how Sister Jude was running the place.
But now he's skinning and cutting the heads of people and making fucking lamps out of skin. UGH.
I always come in these posts to see maybe there will be something to change my mind about quitting this season after the first episode, and every time it's a giant NOPE.
she did bring her to the forest. Shelly crawled to the other location. as much as i wanted her to be, she wasnt anne. post preg psychosis and an obsession with anne is what happened. the zoom in on the pic was just to drive home that she did identify the dr correctly. he was a nazi scientist.
mte on the last two points. like wtf is gonna happen to shell. she's away from briarcliff but what can possibly happen to her now that she's a monster, other than death
and i really thought the doctor was gonna kill her when he went into her cell. i feel like he did some slick shit to her during the lobotomy or smth, it worked out too well
4. Presumably because the demon has bigger plans for Arden. Shelly is already half... mutant, or whatever the fuck they are, so she wasn't intended to be food. 5. He knows she isn't Anne Frank, he's just a dick. She also had family right there, so that would have been impossible.
I figure that he went with the lobotomy because she had family. Sure, her husband was leaving her there again, but if he ever popped in for a visit to check on her, there'd be trouble.
5. I think he wanted to either kill or experiment on her but her husband was around and involved and it would have been too hard to do that so he went with the lobotomy instead. This way he makes her forget everything and he gets some kick out of it too.
Shelly isn't food she's a creature now. The doctor only kills people without any family. "Anne Frank" had a family that would ask questions if she was to die.
3- jessica keeps blowing me away. i was already assuming the movie scene from 2 weeks ago would be her award submission but she topped herself this week 5- because her husband was there and was told the lobotomy would help her
poor lana just can't get a break.
Quinto plays a sociopath really well, tbh.
And poor Kit and Grace and Shelley.
Can't wait for next episode although I still don't know what the fuck is going on. It's becoming more clear, though!
I wish the alien stuff wasn't included at all. It just doesn't fit with the rest of what's going on.
does anyone else think ryan was referencing the murder castle in this ep with the trap door leading to the basement
Poor, poor Lana :( I was not expecting that Jeffrey Dahmer/Ed Geen shit. This show is getting a little too sadistic for my tastes lol but it still keeps dragging me back in
Also, wtf @ this alien storyline coming back.
Certain people are off limits and she is one of them imo.

This show makes me paranoid as shit.

also when/how did Grace find Alma?
Edited at 2012-11-15 04:47 am (UTC)
In her asylum cell.
Of course.
First: Ugh...really? LaQueento?
Second: Why Lana?
Third: How many awards can Jessica Lange get for her squirrel monologue?
Catorce: Why dump Shelly at a school vs. feeding her to the forest like all the others?
Ferret: Why the lobotomy vs. just killing Anne Frank and feeding her to the forest?
Aaaaahhhh, this episode.
as much as i wanted her to be, she wasnt anne. post preg psychosis and an obsession with anne is what happened. the zoom in on the pic was just to drive home that she did identify the dr correctly. he was a nazi scientist.

2. Of course 2.0

I was wondering the same thing.
