Obviously there will always be exceptions. I just feel like whenever I pick up Vogue/Vanity Fair/insert other fashion mag here and I look at the pages with bios of the writers/photographers and stories that focus on buyers/business end people, they seem with few exceptions to consist of New England prep school socialite types and European prep school socialite types. Not that any creative endeavor is easy to break into but high fashion has always struck me as still being overwhelmingly the province of the elite.
