Are you ready to see the boys in uniform?

On the Dec. 6 episode of The Vampire Diaries, which includes a flashback to 1940s New Orleans, fans will see Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) dressed as World War II GIs. And, according to costume designer Leigh Leverett, the brothers also don some dapper old-school suits and ties. 

As if that wasn’t enticing enough, Stefan’s best friend Lexi (Arielle Kebbel) will also make an appearance. “We put her in some fantastic 40s dress,” Leverett says.

What I woudl give to write an arc of TVD to try and make it awesome.

I'd write about Damon developing feelings for an army buddy, who tragically dies, but in fact, had become a vampire and is now in Mystic Falls, giving him feels again so Damon could forget about Elena.

I'm confused about why a vampire would enlist in the army. Surely if they were concerned about the nazis it would be fairly easy for them to just break hitler's neck? Plus, the blood? Seems like they'd be risking exposure. Idgi.

That would be like saying why does one of them still go to high school. The only thing I can assume is they like to blend in? So I guess draft age guys not enlisting would draw attention? idk

Maybe Hitler has vampires or hunters protecting him so it wouldn't be easy to get close.

not to mention, i think it'd be more suspicious for two able bodied looking young men to not be going to war. although how they pass the physical with no heartbeat could be interesting, although i'm sure there's easy ways to fake that

Yeah I can totally see Damon pulling off the buffet thing, but I think Stefan was supposed to be on his "bunny diet" by then, so i don't get how he'd do it. I guess they could just compell the doctor to pass the exam. Then again as much as I love this show I don't know why I'm expecting it to make sense lol.

I don't think the writers have thought vampires' physiology through, in the first season I recall someone saying that they drink coffee to keep up their circulation up so they're not cold to the touch (um, wat), so that would indicate that their hearts are beating. But who the fuck really knows.
